Job Description:
The Manager, Home Center Analytics Enablement will translate business questions, processes, and data definitions into scalable analytics solutions. This role will establish trusted metrics, reduce duplicative and manual reporting, and enable consistent, data-driven decision-making across functions. The Manager will combine business acumen with hands-on expertise in Power BI, dimensional data modeling, semantic model development, DAX, and dashboard design to build and govern reusable analytics assets. In partnership with BI and business stakeholders, this role will define requirements, validate data and business logic, prioritize the analytics roadmap, and convert complex information into actionable insights that improve portfolio performance, efficiency, revenue, profitability, and market share. The role will also promote adoption through documentation, training, and governed self-service analytics.
YOUR ROLE:
- Serve as the team’s analytics lead, translating business needs and operational context into clear requirements and scalable reporting solutions.
- Partner with Product Management, Sales, Finance, Demand Management, Engineering, Business Intelligence partners, and data owners to define analytics priorities, requirements, use cases, key performance indicators, business rules, and scalable source-to-report solutions.
- Own standardized metric definitions, business logic, reporting conventions, semantic model documentation, data lineage, measures, analytics processes, and reporting standards to promote trusted and consistent use of information.
- Build, enhance, and maintain scalable Power BI semantic models, reports, and dashboards using dimensional modeling best practices, Power Query, and advanced DAX.
- Analyze and integrate data from ERP, PIM, financial systems, retailer point-of-sale sources, and other relevant platforms in partnership with data owners and BI.
- Identify and consolidate duplicative reporting, reduce manual data preparation, and migrate high-value analyses toward governed, reusable analytics solutions.
- Standardized report development, dashboard design, release practices, and governed self-service training to improve usability, performance, consistency, adoption, and appropriate use of data.
- Enable governed self-service analytics by training users on Power BI assets, metric definitions, analytical methods, and appropriate use of data.
- Maintain thorough documentation of semantic models, data lineage, measures, business rules, analytics processes, and reporting standards.
- Stay current with analytics, data modeling, visualization, and AI-enabled analysis practices and assess opportunities to apply them responsibly to business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business, data science, computer science, information systems, or a related field is required.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in business analytics, business intelligence, or a similar role, with a strong record of delivering analytics solutions that support business decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI is required, including semantic model design, dimensional modeling, Power Query, DAX, performance optimization, and report development. Experience with Tableau, SQL, Snowflake, data lakes, cloud data platforms, analytics certifications is preferred.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a disciplined approach to data quality and validation.
- Ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority, challenge inconsistent assumptions constructively, and drive adoption of common analytics solutions.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical concepts and business context.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a disciplined approach to data quality and validation.
- Experience with big-box retailers (Home Depot and/or Lowes), retailer point-of-sale data, product or category analytics is a plus.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for 90% of the time and constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. This includes typing, clicking, and writing. Frequently positions self to maintain information in drawers and shelving. Must be able to exchange accurate information and have the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Ability to read documents, emails, and computer screens, as well as see details on printed materials and presentations. Consistently works in an indoor setting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a remote position with the ideal candidate capable of working efficiently and independently from their home office to fulfill assigned tasks and meet deadlines. As a remote employee the candidate will need internet connectivity capable of supporting virtual communication tools that allow for collaboration with team members, attendance of meetings, and participation in company activities. The ideal candidate will be required to set up and maintain a suitable home office environment conducive to productivity. This includes having a dedicated workspace with a comfortable chair, desk, and adequate lighting. The candidate is expected to travel occasionally to support strategy development, site visits, special projects, etc. This travel will require overnight stays and may be multiple days in duration.
