Director – On-Site Digital Engineering Info Systems & Tech – Bethesda, MD

DUTIES:

• In this corporate individual contributor role, function as a technical and solution architecture expert.
• Define and create scalable/secure system solutions to deliver real world capabilities within a rapidly evolving on-site digital platform.
• Make decisions on complex, non-routine service requests with moderate to medium risk.
• Perform research, analysis, design, creation and implementation of applications to meet current and future user requirements.
• Define and create the next generation of solutions to drive Marriott value by creating solutions that serve business needs leveraging current and leading-edge technologies in an innovative and impactful manner.
• Define the architectural and technical software solutions to deliver critical capabilities in an enterprise platform.
• Provide recommendations and perspective on forward looking technology and tools for future state system development.
• Train and/or mentor other team members, and peers as appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the service delivery processes.
• Create technical solutions for complex business needs and estimate level of effort to create to deliver solutions.
• Validate completeness of requirements when reviewing Service Provider solutions.
• Ensure all solutions follow the defined enterprise architecture standards and review processes.
• Ensure proper coordination with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams.
• Provide consultation for routine and complex systems development.
• Ensure early warning to the business stakeholder executives regarding degraded or missed service levels.
• Coordinate with Operations and Infrastructure teams for deployment and production support activities.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or in a closely related technical field followed by 8 years of software development experience.

Experience must include:

• 8 years of experience using multiple programming languages and methodologies.
• 8 years of experience with application development tools.
• 4 years of experience in architecture solution development for complex and/or enterprise level systems.
• 6 years of experience in waterfall and/or agile software methodologies.
• 1 year of experience with one or more of the following: Spring Boot, Microservices development, AWS, Kubernetes, Relational Databases, Observability and Monitoring tools.

TELEWORK: Hybrid position; eligible for part-time telecommuting.

SALARY: $178,214.00 to $215,000.00 per year
