Forward Deployed Engineer
Forward Deployed Engineer
Luv Bridal | Utah
Build technology that changes how a real business operates.
Luv Bridal is seeking an exceptional Forward Deployed Engineer to join our technology team and help build the next generation of applications, integrations, data products, automations, and AI tools that power our business.
This is not a traditional IT role.
We're looking for a builder who can work directly with leadership and teams across the company, understand operational challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and turn ideas into practical, scalable technology solutions.
You might spend one week building an internal application, the next connecting business data to an AI workflow, and the next creating an integration between two critical systems.
The problems will change. Your job is to solve them—and build solutions that others can understand, support, and improve.
What you'll work with
Our technology environment spans a growing Microsoft and retail technology ecosystem, including:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Microsoft Fabric and Azure
- Power BI
- Microsoft 365, Copilot, and Copilot Studio
- BridalLive retail ERP / CRM / POS
- Shopify
- REST APIs and third-party integrations
- Custom internal applications
- AI models, agents, and automation
- Retail, financial, inventory, product, and customer data
We don't expect you to arrive as an expert in every platform. We do expect you to be technically strong enough to learn unfamiliar systems quickly, apply sound engineering principles, and develop effective solutions.
What you'll build
Projects could include:
- Internal applications for showroom, regional, and corporate teams
- AI-powered operational tools and agents
- Management and executive dashboards
- Workflow and approval systems
- Customer and employee applications
- Product-development tools
- Integrations between ERP, retail, web, data, and AI systems
- Data products built on Fabric and Azure
- Rapid prototypes for new ideas
Some projects will become permanent enterprise applications. Others will be experiments built quickly to determine whether an idea is worth pursuing.
We value both, provided solutions are developed with appropriate attention to security, maintainability, and long-term business needs.
What we're looking for
The ideal candidate is a strong full-stack engineer with a product mindset who can independently translate business challenges into practical technology solutions.
You should be comfortable moving from:
Business problem → workflow → data → architecture → prototype → production
without needing someone else to define every requirement.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Strong in modern full-stack application development, including TypeScript / JavaScript and modern web frameworks
- Highly proficient with APIs, SQL, relational databases, integrations, and business systems
- Comfortable working with cloud platforms and enterprise technology environments
- Experienced with AI-assisted development tools and interested in LLMs, agents, RAG, tool calling, and AI-enabled applications
- Capable of moving quickly from prototype to reliable, scalable production software
- Committed to clean code, standardized development practices, thorough documentation, and maintainable system architecture
- Knowledgeable about application security, access controls, data protection, and secure development practices
- Product-minded, with the ability to challenge assumptions, simplify processes, and recommend effective solutions
- Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable taking ownership of projects from initial concept through implementation, support, and continuous improvement
- Willing to share expertise, cross-train colleagues, and contribute to the broader capabilities of the technology team
Experience with Microsoft Azure, Fabric, Power Platform, Power BI, Business Central, Shopify, enterprise APIs, or retail technology is valuable, but engineering ability, curiosity, sound judgment, and learning speed matter more than checking every box.
Our engineering standards
We move quickly and encourage innovation, but we also believe that great technology must be secure, sustainable, and accessible to the people responsible for supporting it.
Standardization & Documentation
- Develop solutions using established engineering standards, commonly accepted best practices, and consistent development methodologies.
- Maintain clear, practical documentation covering system architecture, integrations, workflows, dependencies, and ongoing maintenance requirements.
- Build applications and integrations that can be understood, modified, and supported by other qualified team members.
- Favor standardized, reusable, and scalable solutions over unnecessary customization or complexity.
- Actively collaborate, share knowledge, and cross-train others to strengthen the capabilities of the entire technology team.
Security & Governance
- Design, develop, and maintain solutions that comply with company security policies and established information security standards.
- Prioritize secure authentication, authorization, access management, and appropriate protection of company and customer data.
- Leverage our Microsoft 365 tenant for identity management, authentication, and access controls whenever technically feasible and appropriate.
- Follow secure development practices throughout the application lifecycle, including integrations with third-party systems and AI services.
- Work with internal technology and security stakeholders to ensure solutions meet organizational requirements.
Our philosophy is simple: Build solutions that empower the business, not black boxes that create unnecessary dependencies on one individual.
How you'll work
You'll collaborate closely with our internal technology team, company leadership, operational teams, and external technology partners.
Sometimes you'll own a solution end-to-end. Other times you'll work alongside specialists in ERP, data engineering, infrastructure, reporting, or security.
This is a high-autonomy, high-accountability role. We want someone who can engage directly with the people doing the work, understand the underlying challenges, and develop solutions that deliver measurable value.
Independence is important, but collaboration is equally essential. Successful projects should strengthen the organization's technology capabilities rather than create systems that only one person understands.
When you encounter something unfamiliar, your instinct should be:
"Let me figure this out, build it the right way, and make sure others can support it."
