Java Backend Developer (Digital Hangar)

Who are you?4+ years of professional Java development experience. Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed systems. Experience with REST APIs and event-driven architecture (e.g. Kafka). Practical experience with containers, Kubernetes and CI/CD. Understanding software architecture, clean code and engineering best practices. Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or similar. Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills. Professional working proficiency in English (B2/C1). Availability to work in a hybrid model – 2 days per week in our Gdańsk officeWhat do we welcome? Azure and cloud-native services. In this role, you will be responsible for: Design, build and operate Java-based backend services used across Lufthansa Group. Develop cloud-native microservices, REST APIs and event-driven integrations. Take ownership of the full software lifecycle – from solution design and implementation to deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement. Work with Kubernetes, CI/CD, distributed messaging and modern DevOps practices. Use AI-assisted engineering tools and help us explore new approaches to software development.
