Talent Acquisition Specialist

Position Summary
The Talent Acquisition Specialist develops sustainable talent pipelines by building strategic partnerships with high schools, technical colleges, universities, workforce development organizations, youth apprentice and community groups. This position serves as the organization's ambassador in the community to increase awareness of career opportunities, strengthen employer branding, and cultivate future talent.
Essential Responsibilities
Talent Pipeline Development
- Create and maintain recruiting pipelines for current and future workforce needs.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with area high schools, technical colleges, universities, and training programs.
- Identify opportunities to engage students, recent graduates, and emerging talent.
- Coordinate internship, apprenticeship, job shadow, and career exploration opportunities.
- Establish relationships with career counselors, educators, and student organizations.
Youth Apprenticeship Program Coordination
- Serve as the primary coordinator for the organization's Youth Apprenticeship Program.
- Recruit, onboard, and support youth apprentices throughout their work-based learning experience.
- Ensure compliance with applicable youth employment, safety, and apprenticeship program requirements.
- Track program outcomes and recommend enhancements to expand youth career pathways and future workforce pipelines.
Recruitment Outreach
- Represent the organization at:

- Community events
- Workforce development programs
- Industry networking events
- Support employer branding initiatives and recruitment marketing campaigns.
Candidate Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with prospective candidates.
- Full-cycle recruitment activities for entry level positions.
- Promote internship, apprenticeship, and youth apprenticeship pathways to employment.
New Hire Onboarding & Candidate Support
- Guide new hires through the pre-employment and onboarding process, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
- Coordinate the completion, collection, and processing of required employment documentation.
- Prepare and send out new hire folders including assignment of key fobs.
- Communicate onboarding schedules, first-day expectations, and organizational information to new hires.
- Respond to candidate and new hire questions and provide support throughout the onboarding transition.
