About the Role
We're seeking a talented and energetic Junior IT Operations Specialist to support our team during a fixed 12-months period. If you would like to try yourself out in the field of IT operations, gain experience in an international environment while working fully remotely, this is a great opportunity for you!Β
Please note that occasional visits to our Riga office will be required, as some equipment and colleagues are based there and may occasionally need on-site support. This is an entry level position, 1 year of experience in a similar field or relevant studies is required to be successful in this role.Β
You Will:Β
Access & Account Management
- Oversee user lifecycle and provisioning, including account creation, modification, activation, and deactivation, across primary platforms (such as Google Workspace, Okta, Atlassian, Slack & more) in compliance with role-based access control.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes end-to-end β provisioning accounts and equipment for new hires, and revoking access/reclaiming assets for departing employees.
- Maintain accurate records of user access and permissions for audit and compliance purposes.
IT Support & Troubleshooting
- Serve as first point of contact (Level 1 support) for Lokalisers' day-to-day technical requests submitted via the IT service desk/Slack.
- Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues on macOS and Windows devices in a remote-only environment.
- Diagnose and resolve account access issues, password resets, and login/SSO problems.
- Escalate more complex issues to Senior IT Operations Specialists with clear documentation of steps already taken.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Create and maintain how-to guides, FAQs, and internal knowledge base articles for common requests.
- Document existing IT processes clearly, identifying steps that could be automated or streamlined.
- Maintain and improve our IT Operations AI Agents
- Flag recurring issues or inefficiencies to the team and propose small process improvements.
- Keep internal wiki/Confluence pages for owned processes up to date.
Security & Compliance
- Support periodic access reviews and audits by pulling reports and verifying permissions.
- Ensure new equipment and accounts are set up according to security baseline requirements.
Learning & Development
- Shadow senior IT Ops team members to build familiarity with the broader Lokalise IT landscape and how systems interconnect.
- Progressively take on slightly more complex tickets with guidance, building toward independent handling of Level 2 issues.
- Build basic scripting/automation literacy (e.g., reading and understanding existing scripts, minor edits) as a growth path toward the IT Operations Specialist level.
You Must Have:
- A genuine interest in technology, with a curious, troubleshooting mindset (you like figuring out why something's broken, not just fixing it)
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the discipline to follow documented processes
- A friendly, service-oriented attitude and clear written communication, most of your day will be helping colleagues over Slack/tickets
- Comfort working independently in a remote-first, English-speaking international team
- ~1 year of relevant hands-on experience (work, internship, personal projects, or self-study all count)
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to identity/access or collaboration tools such as Google Workspace, Okta, Atlassian, or Slack admin (even from personal projects or coursework)
- Basic scripting exposure (e.g., reading or making small edits to existing scripts)
