Position Summary
We are seeking a talented Senior Manager, Market Intelligence and Development to join our Marketing team, bringing expertise in market research and market development strategy execution. In this role, you will support go to market strategies for new products, lead comprehensive market analyses for new business opportunities, and drive market research initiatives that surface customer insights across the organization.
You will partner closely with Product, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Customer Success, User Experience and Engineering to build a company-wide approach for gathering, assessing, and acting on customer insights related to Karius' products and platforms. You will play a central role in deepening our understanding of the customer, including maintaining a clear view of the competitive landscape and emerging product innovation opportunities. This role calls for a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine passion for turning market intelligence into actionable business decisions.

Reports to: Sr. Director, Marketing
Location: Redwood City, CA (Hybrid) or Remote (USA)
Primary Responsibilities:

Partner cross functionally across Product, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Customer Success, User Experience, and Engineering to develop and execute comprehensive market research plans supporting new product launches, market expansions, and ongoing commercialization.

Serve as project leader for market research studies, including development of the budget, project objectives, design, vendor oversight, monitoring of data collection, data analysis, and interpretation

Develop relevant and compelling presentations of market research insights and competitive landscape overview for key stakeholders, including Commercial Leadership and Leadership Team.

Support new product launches, assisting with the development of go-to-market strategies, soft launches, pilot programs and customer insight gathering.

Work with stakeholders identify KPIs for launch success; assess and communicate progress pre- and post-launch

Develop initial commercial materials and sales enablement resources for new products in partnership with the Director, Sales Enablement.

Work with stakeholders to identify KPIs for launch success, and assess and communicate progress before and after launch.

Leverage market knowledge, primary and secondary data, and KPIs to develop short-term and long-term forecasts, commercial opportunity assessments, and uncertainty analyses.

Monitor the competitive and market landscape, staying abreast of new product launches, key publications, and commercial activities.

Develop and implement a framework for sharing competitive insights to key stakeholders across the company, with a focus on strategic implications.

Assist the Director, Sales Enablement and Sr. Manager, Sales Training with developing sales training and resources to effectively counter competitive threats.

Physical Requirements
Subject to extended periods of sitting and/or standing, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is generally performed in an office, lab or clinical environment.
Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.

A minimum of 8 years of relevant related experience with 3+ years of work experience required in Sales, Finance, Marketing, Analytics, Market Research, and/or Strategy consulting.

Proven track record of translating market insights into successful business strategies.

Strong expertise in market research tools, business intelligence platforms and Microsoft Excel.

Experience developing and maintaining market models, including business case development and sales forecasting, preferred.

Experience with go to market strategies for new product launches, including analysis of market opportunities, development of product positioning and messaging, creation of product resources and collateral, gathering of customer insights, and project management of operational logistics.

Expertise in conducting competitive analyses and generating actionable recommendations.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data to diverse audiences.
