About the role
We're looking for a Senior SEO/GEO Software Engineer to build the systems and tools that help our websites get crawled, rendered, indexed and surfaced by both traditional search engines and AI-powered answer engines. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on technical SEO, site performance and automation. You'll fix the technical foundations of our sites, build internal tools that automate SEO work at scale, and create systems to publish high-quality content programmatically. Strong programming skills, a solid grasp of technical SEO and an AI-forward mindset are key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain systems that help search engines crawl, render and index our websites.
- Fix technical SEO issues such as broken redirects, URL structure and duplicate content (including canonical tags).
- Optimize Core Web Vitals and site performance, including page speed.
- Build internal tools and scripts to automate SEO tasks, such as bulk meta tag updates, log file analysis and schema validation.
- Build systems to create and publish high-quality content programmatically.
- Partner with marketing, content and product teams to prioritize and ship SEO improvements.
Core Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a software engineer, including 3+ years focused on SEO/GEO.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or JavaScript.
- Solid understanding of how search engines crawl, render and index websites.
- Hands-on experience with technical SEO, including redirects, canonicalization, structured data and Core Web Vitals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with programmatic SEO and publishing content at scale.
- Familiarity with GEO / Generative Engine Optimization and how content is surfaced in AI-generated responses.
- Experience with tools such as Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or Semrush.
