Overview

At Jua we are building it now. Our models already run on four continents and help power the energy buildout needed to support ever larger intelligence.

We are assembling a world-class team of researchers and entrepreneurial minds to turn this model into reality at global scale. If you want the opportunity of your life, come build physical AI with us.

What we’re looking for

We're hiring our first Sales Development Representative. This is a remote role, open to candidates based in the UK (London preferred) or elsewhere in Europe, and welcomes applications from Junior-Mid level Business Development Representatives (SDR). You'll be the first conversation many potential prospects have with Jua, and your job is to start the right ones: find the companies that need what we've built, get them on the phone, work out whether there's a real fit, and book qualified meetings for Account Executive team.

You'll collaborate closely with our small sales team, and because you're first in the seat, you'll help shape how we prospect - which segments respond, which messages land, and what a good qualified meeting looks like.

This is not a closing or account management role. It's for someone who likes the craft of outbound, wants to build a sales career at a deep-tech company and is ambitious and relentless in their pursuit to help us accelerate growth across our B2B platform product.

Responsibilities and tasks

• Prospect into target accounts in energy trading, utilities and renewables across Europe and the UK by phone, email and LinkedIn and any other creative tools that help achieve the goal

• Cold call daily: open conversations, handle objections and earn the next step

• Research accounts and the people in them so every outreach has a reason to exist

• Qualify prospects against our qualification criteria and book discovery meetings for our Account Executive team

• Follow up on inbound leads, pilot sign-ups and event contacts quickly

• Build and test outbound sequences, and share what's working with the team

• Keep HubSpot accurate so pipeline and forecasting can be trusted

• Hit targets for qualified meetings booked, and for how many of those meetings turn into customers

• Join industry events, conferences, and help to build Jua’s presence on professional networking platforms and forums when useful (this means occasional travel within Europe)

Need-to-have

• Around 2–3 years in high-growth, early-stage tech startup environment doing outbound B2B sales role (SDR, BDR or similar) where cold calling was a core part of the job

• A track record of hitting or beating activity and meeting targets - you can tell us your numbers

• Confidence on the phone with senior, technical buyers, and the curiosity to learn how they make decisions

• Fluent, confident English, spoken and written

• Comfort with a Hubspot, or similar CRM experience and with using AI tools to research and work faster

• Resilience: you can take a lot of "no" and stay sharp, organised and positive

Nice-to-have

• Experience selling software or data products to energy, commodities or financial markets

• A degree, ideally a master's, in a quantitative or commercial field such as business, finance, economics, engineering or computer science

• Interest in weather, climate or energy markets

• Professional fluency in another European language

• Experience with outbound tooling such as Clay, LinkedIn Sales Navigator or sequencing tools

Personal Attributes

• You are all in, are able to travel when needed, willing to put in the hours and do whatever it takes to win

• Self-starting and resourceful: you find a way rather than waiting for a playbook

• Coachable: you want feedback and act on it quickly, with a strong bias to action

• Data-driven: you track what works and change what doesn't

• Comfortable with ambiguity and the pace of an early-stage company

• You take initiative and are resourceful in your approach to problem solving

• Ambitious about building a career in sales

What We Offer

• Being the first SDR at a deep-tech startup, with real influence on how we go to market

• Direct coaching from VP of Operations and our Sales team allowing you to work closely with a founding team that has built multiple B2B SaaS companies

• A clear path to grow into an Account Executive role as the team scales

Please note: We prioritise your answers to the application questions over your CV, so we encourage you to complete them as thoughtfully and thoroughly as possible.
