Senior UX/CX Researcher - Parental Leave Cover (all genders)
We love the magic of memory keeping
At Journi, we’re on a mission to build the world’s most-downloaded printing app.
With over 10 million users worldwide, we help people turn their favorite moments into beautifully designed Photo Books and Prints. Our smart AI makes the process fast, simple, and joyful, so our users can spend less time editing and more time reliving their best stories.
We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Customer Experience Researcher to join us as a parental leave cover for approximately 14–18 months. Ideally, you’d be able to start in November, as this would allow for a smooth onboarding and handover. You’ll step into an established research practice and play a key role in elevating how we understand our customers and make research-informed product decisions.
You’ll report to our Head of Experience Design & Customer Insights and work closely with PMs, Product Designers, Data Analysts, and other leads to uncover actionable insights that shape our product bets.
If you’re excited to jump in, make an impact, and leave our research practice in an even better state than you found it, we’d love to hear from you!
🚀 What you'll do
Lead research across domains and teams. Tackle strategic questions, explore new markets, validate concepts, and dive in wherever expertise is needed most.
Set the standard for research quality. Create templates, tools, and guidelines. Coach designers and PMs to level up their research skills.
Own CX metrics and insights. Design and instrument metrics that measure user experience quality beyond business outcomes. Have clear opinions on what to measure and when.
Run research operations. Evolve user panels, streamline recruiting, and make it easier for teams to connect with the right audience.
Turn insights into action. Share findings that inspire teams to act. Present to leadership and facilitate workshops that drive impact.
🎒 Your bag of tricks
5+ years of UX/CX research in B2C tech products. You've worked on mobile apps or web products and understand consumer-facing challenges.
Strong mixed methods expertise. You run qualitative research (interviews, usability tests, diary studies) and quantitative research (A/B testing, surveys, benchmarking) with confidence. You pick the right tool for the job and don't rely on data analysts for quantitative work.
Experience with CX metrics and research operations. You've instrumented metrics that measure user experience quality (satisfaction, ease of use, perception). You've recruited participants and built panels that scale.
Strategic thinking. You connect insights to business goals and product strategy while executing tactical research where needed.
Strong Communication & Presentation Skills. You communicate with clarity and confidence. Your excellent English helps you present findings, facilitate workshops, and influence stakeholders.
Collaborative mindset. You work well with cross-functional teams and help others improve their research skills.
You are allowed to work in Austria and willing to move to (or are already in) Vienna.
