About the job

The JMP DevOps team’s goal is to create and maintain the infrastructure for JMP product software and internally used development tools. This role requires knowledge of the software development life cycle, familiarity with a wide variety of scripting and programming languages (e.g., Powershell, Python, Perl, Go) and tools used to automate tasks and processes (e.g., AWS, Jenkins, compilers for MacOSX and Windows, and installer software). The successful intern candidate will play a critical role in understanding and documenting existing processes and working with DevOps team members to improve them for future releases.

As an intern, you may:

• Learn about the JMP development process and infrastructure that supports our feature, maintenance and monthly security release cycles
• Collect requirements and complete tooling projects in collaboration with DevOps team members
• Research new technologies and tools
• Review and improve existing process and infrastructure documentation
• Back up team members on routine tasks
• Contribute to other JMP DevOps team projects on an ad-hoc basis

To be successful in this internship, you should have the following:

• Undergraduate college student enrolled in an accredited program in one of the folllowing areas of study: Computer Science, not graduating prior to December 2027
• Ability to develop novel solutions to technical problems
• Genuine interest in working with a DevOps infrastructure team
• Experience with data analysis software (JMP experience not required)
• Coding / scripting skills in a variety of languages
• Strong communication and organization skills

Timeline

• Interviews begin:  October 2026 on a rolling basis.

• Internship: May 18, 2027 – August 6, 2027 (These dates are not flexible. To be considered for the JMP Summer Internship program, all interns must be available to start in person at Cary HQ on May 18, 2027. Summer internships last 12 weeks.)

 Pay transparency: Hourly rates for SAS internships are based on an applicant’s year in school and the role they are hired into. Rates range from $15 to $30 per hour for associate and bachelor’s-level positions and from $29 to $49 per hour for master’s and Ph.D positions. Internship roles are not eligible for bonuses.
