How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Software Engineer II, you’ll ship high-impact code, own projects autonomously, and solve complex production problems. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment where your input directly shapes team goals, refines our processes, and drives architectural choices.

What You’ll Do

• Ship Scalable Code: Write, test, and maintain robust production features for enterprise scale.
• Drive Solutions: Proactively collaborate across time zones to tackle engineering challenges.
• Own Outcomes: Anticipate roadblocks, estimate effort accurately, and recommend improvements to existing systems.
• Grow & Influence: Form strong engineering opinions while actively incorporating feedback from a diverse, global team.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of software engineering experience building production-ready, scalable applications.
• Proficiency in Scala (or strong expertise in Java, Kotlin, Python, or JavaScript with a desire to learn Scala)
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, Postgres, or similar storage technologies.
• Comfort working in a highly distributed, remote-first engineering culture.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Fluent English and legal authorization to work in the EU.
• Bonus Points: Experience with enterprise systems, modern testing (E2E, performance), or working with US-based teams.

The base salary range for this position in Lisbon, Portugal, is €55,000 – €68,000 per year (gross). This range is provided in anticipation of the requirements of the EU Pay Transparency Directive (2023/970), which EU member states are implementing into national law, and reflects the expected compensation at the start of employment for this role.The final offer will be determined by your experience, qualifications, and performance throughout the selection process, while ensuring alignment with our internal equity principles.
