Job Description

The isolved Senior Software Engineer designs, builds, and owns complex functionality on the Perform product, working in an AI-first development environment. You'll use AI-assisted tools like Claude Code as a core part of your daily workflow, and you'll be expected to bring strong judgment about what that output gets right, what it gets wrong, and when it shouldn't be used at all.

Our teams work in an AI Development Lifecycle (AIDLC) where product, UX, engineering, and QA work through problems together in real time rather than handing off requirements down a line. As a Senior Engineer, you're an active voice in that room: shaping solutions, raising technical risks early, and helping turn ambiguous ideas into working software. You'll also be a go-to resource and mentor for other engineers on the team.

Core Job Duties

• Design, build, and maintain features across the stack using .NET, Angular, SQL Server, and CosmosDB
• Use AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code or similar) to accelerate delivery, while owning the quality, correctness, and maintainability of everything you ship
• Collaborate in real time with product, UX, and QA through the AIDLC to define, refine, and deliver work
• Review code, both human and AI-generated, with a sharp eye for logic errors, edge cases, security issues, and drift from team standards
• Mentor and support other engineers, especially on debugging, problem decomposition, and effective use of AI tools
• Build and maintain automated tests and contribute to CI/CD through Azure Pipelines
• Investigate and resolve escalated production issues
• Help improve team practices, standards, and workflows as our AI-first model matures

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional web application and services development, with recent hands-on experience in AI-assisted development
• Strong proficiency with C#, .NET (current versions), Angular, TypeScript, and SQL Server
• Experience with CosmosDB or another NoSQL database
• Experience with microservice architecture, pub/sub, and asynchronous messaging
• Experience with Azure, Azure Pipelines, Git, and Docker
• Solid unit and integration testing practices
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate and correct AI-generated code rather than accepting it at face value
• Comfortable working through ambiguity in collaborative, fast-moving sessions with product and UX
• Experience mentoring or supporting other developers
• Eager to learn, and comfortable with tools and workflows that are still evolving

Nice to Have

• Experience with large enterprise or SaaS platforms, ideally in HCM, payroll, or HR tech
• Experience working on distributed teams across time zones
