Associate Product Manager
Summary/objective
The Associate Product Manager (APM) is an entry point into the product management track, designed for individuals transitioning from business analysis, data, or technical roles, or early in their product career. This APM is dedicated to Project Atlas, isolved's multi-year modernization of its core HCM platform, which breaks monolith data into domain services and replaces direct database access with production APIs.
Rather than owning a traditional feature backlog, the APM helps prove the new architecture by defining and coordinating focused, concrete deliverables that bring Atlas engineering, the data team, and reporting teams together around real use cases. The APM also serves as the bridge between Atlas and the product teams that will consume its data, understanding their needs ahead of each data domain release and bringing evidence-based recommendations on priority and sequencing. The role reports to the Director of Product Management for the Scalability Pod (Data, Analytics & Reporting) and works primarily embedded with Project Atlas.
Core Job Duties
- Identify, scope, and coordinate proof-point deliverables (for example, a report built on a newly released data service) that test and validate Atlas architecture with real data and real teams
- Rally engineering, data, and reporting teams around shared deliverables; turn open-ended architecture discussions into specific, answerable questions
- Partner with consuming product teams ahead of each Atlas data domain release to understand how they will use the data and what they need first
- Synthesize consumer needs into clear recommendations on data domain priority and sequencing, and present them to Atlas and product leadership
- Define requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for proof-point deliverables in partnership with engineering
- Track cross-team dependencies and surface blockers early, escalating when needed
- Document outcomes, decisions, and lessons learned from each proof point so they can be reused by future teams
- Use AI tools to accelerate analysis, requirement drafting, and synthesis
- Contribute to Atlas program communications and stakeholder updates
- Be a flexible and supportive team member, assisting with other responsibilities as they arise
