Job Type: Full-time | Location: Arizona, US | Department: Innovation | Reporting to: Vice President, Next Generation Data Center Architecture | Work Location: #onsite
IREN is a vertically integrated AI Cloud provider, delivering large-scale data centers and GPU clusters for AI training and inference. IREN’s platform is underpinned by its expansive portfolio of grid-connected land and power in renewable-rich regions across North America, Europe and APAC.
The Program Manager, NGDCA Program Office will lead the NGDCA Program Office so that the Vice President owns the architecture and somebody else owns the calendar. The function is growing from a handful of people to thirty-six seats across six hiring waves while it writes the owner design basis for liquid-cooled, 800 volt direct current AI factories. The position owns the wave plan and its gates, the decision-paper and implementation series as a publication program, the portfolio register, the Architecture Review Gate calendar and its evidence logistics, the working interfaces with four peer engineering functions, and a team of four analysts and coordinators. This is a Senior Manager seat by design; the Program Office may merge into an Innovation-wide operations function.
- Own the six-wave hiring and capability plan, its requisition windows, the conditions on each wave and the gate review that opens the next one; report monthly with variances named.
- Publish the decision-paper and implementation series (IREN-PLN, IREN-BOD, IREN-ORG, IREN-IMP): numbering, revision, review routing and approval record, with the Vice President as author.
- Run the invention disclosure process with Legal so that patentable work is captured when it is produced.
- Maintain the portfolio register of initiatives, projects, pilots and ideas and run the monthly review that advances, holds or kills each entry.
- Schedule the Architecture Review Gate, run its evidence logistics, attendance, action tracking and published record.
- Hold the working cadence with Electrical Innovation, Mechanical Innovation, Industrialized Delivery and Commissioning, including method-line commitments and escalation.
- Manage the four Program Office seats: priorities, development and the quality of what they produce.
Other important requirements
- Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or a related field; a master's degree or a program management credential is preferred. Equivalent professional experience is considered.
- Ten or more years in program or portfolio management for engineering, infrastructure or technology development organizations, including at least three years managing a program office or a team.
- Direct experience running a stage gate or formal design review process.
- Program management of a multi-year engineering or infrastructure program with a hiring plan, a gate process and a publication or decision record, where you owned the calendar and the record.
- Management of a small team of analysts or coordinators, with evidence of developing them.
- Interface management between organizations that did not report to you and did not share your incentives.
- Writing and reporting that an executive can act on in one page.
- Preferred: PMI Program Management Professional or Project Management Professional; configuration management and document control practice in a regulated or engineered environment; experience in an owner's engineering, utility, energy or mission-critical infrastructure program.
