Short Summary:
Intersect is seeking a Gas Power Projects Leader to oversee a portfolio of power plant design and construction projects, ensuring excellence in schedule, quality, safety, and cost performance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direction and oversight for the project portfolio, including scope management and resource allocation.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and progress tracking; provide executive-level reporting.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of Project Managers.
- Direct Project Managers in overseeing contractor performance and program execution.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and safety standards.
- Review and approve major project plans and construction methodologies.
- Implement robust change management, quality assurance, and safety frameworks.
- Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders regarding program status.
- Champion a safety-first culture and foster a collaborative, high-accountability environment.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related field); PgMP certification preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of Project or Program Management experience in power generation or heavy industrial sectors.
- Extensive experience in constructing natural gas-fired power plants.
- Strong understanding of reciprocating engine and/or gas turbine power plant construction.
- Executive-level expertise in managing EPC firms and negotiating contracts.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and permitting processes in the Texas energy sector.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
