Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Windchill PLM Consultant with strong functional and technical expertise in PTC Windchill to drive PLM transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and business stakeholders to understand business requirements, recommend optimal solutions, and implement scalable Windchill configurations and customizations.
Key Responsibilities
Business Consulting & Solution Design

Partner with business stakeholders, engineering teams, product owners, and IT teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
Facilitate requirements workshops and process discovery sessions to understand current-state and future-state PLM processes.
Translate business requirements into Windchill functional and technical solutions.
Evaluate multiple solution approaches and provide recommendations based on business value, scalability, maintainability, and technical feasibility.
Lead solution design discussions and prepare functional and technical design documentation.
Provide guidance on Windchill best practices, PLM governance, data management, and process optimization.

Windchill Configuration & Administration

Configure and maintain Windchill PDMLink modules including:
- Change Management
- Document Management
- Parts Management
- Workflow Management
- Lifecycle Management
- ProjectLink
- PartsLink
Design and implement workflows, lifecycles, business rules, object types, attributes, and access controls.
Configure visualization services, vaulting, replication, clustering, and system administration components.
Support system upgrades, patching, rehosting, cloning, and environment management activities.

Customization & Development

Design, develop, and deploy Windchill customizations and extensions using Windchill APIs and supported development frameworks.
Implement enhancements leveraging Java/J2EE, Spring, Web Services, JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS, and related technologies.
Develop integrations between Windchill and enterprise applications such as ERP, MES, CRM, and other digital engineering platforms.
Support CI/CD practices and contribute to automated build, deployment, and testing processes.
Troubleshoot complex application, configuration, and integration issues.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on experience with PTC Windchill PDMLink.
Strong experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and define PLM solutions.
Proven experience in Windchill configuration and customization.
Strong understanding of:

- BOM Management
- Document Management
- Lifecycle Management
- Workflow Management
Experience with Windchill upgrades, updates, system administration, rehosting, and cloning activities.
Experience with Windchill Workgroup Manager and CAD integrations.
Strong understanding of Windchill data model, APIs, and architecture.
Experience integrating Windchill with ERP, MES, and other enterprise applications.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and consulting skills.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
Estimated annual compensation range for this role will be as follows:
In CA/ WA/NY/CO/MD/IL/MN/NJ/VT/MA: $73,000 to $102,200
In Washington, DC: $66,500 to $100,200
