Title: Software Engineer II - Embedded Platform Location: Den Bosch, Netherlands

At Hudl, we build great teams. We hire the best of the best to ensure you’re working with people you can constantly learn from. You’re trusted to get your work done your way while testing the limits of what’s possible and what’s next. We work hard to provide a culture where everyone feels supported, and our employees feel it—their votes helped us become one of the Top 100 Inspiring Workplaces.
We think of ourselves as the team behind the team, supporting the lifelong impact sports can have: the lessons in teamwork and dedication; the influence of inspiring coaches; and the opportunities to reach new heights. That’s why we help teams from all over the world see their game differently. Our products make it easier for coaches and athletes at any level to capture video, analyze data, share highlights and more.
Ready to join us?

Your Role

We’re looking for an Engineer II to join our Platform squad working on one of Hudl’s most innovative products: next-generation, fully automated sports cameras. These autonomous cameras use edge AI to automatically track the action and upload to the cloud, giving our customers seamless access to vital, real-time video and insights.

The Platform squad builds the foundation our hardware teams rely on - the build systems, tooling, update pipeline and security processes that take our cameras from development through manufacturing and into the field. As we bring up our next-generation hardware platform, you’ll help shape how it’s built, tested, shipped and kept secure.

As an Engineer II, you’ll:

Support our hardware squads. You’ll help hardware squads integrate their work into our CI/CD pipelines, so every change is built, tested and delivered reliably.
Build development tools. You’ll create and improve the tools our engineers use every day to build, flash, debug and test devices.
Keep our infrastructure running. You’ll maintain our CI/CD infrastructure, including the regression testing that runs in manufacturing.
Ship updates to the field. You’ll roll out software updates to our customers’ cameras safely and predictably.
Enable manufacturing. You’ll provide the tooling our contract manufacturers use to flash, provision and test devices on the production line.
Own the problem. You’ll work in an autonomous squad that has the freedom and expertise to deliver the best solution.

Location

Time spent collaborating with your teammates in-office will be a regular part of how you work. We’re currently considering applicants within commuting distance of Den Bosch. You’ll be expected to work more days in-office than remote, but will have the freedom to coordinate your specific in-office schedule with your team.

Must-Haves

Yocto experience. You’ve worked with Yocto and are comfortable building and customizing images.
CI/CD know-how. You’ve built or maintained CI/CD pipelines (for example, GitHub Actions, GitLab or Jenkins), including build automation and automated testing.
Scripting and tooling skills. You write clean, maintainable tools and automation in Bash and Python, and you’re comfortable with Docker and Linux system administration.
Comfortable withAI-assisted development. You work fluently with AI coding tools and can evaluate their output critically.

Nice-to-Haves

OTA update experience. You’ve worked with over-the-air update frameworks.
Manufacturing experience. You’ve built flashing, provisioning or end-of-line test tooling for production environments.
Embedded platform experience. You’ve worked with SoC vendor BSPs, flashing tools or secure boot on platforms.
Low-level development. You’re comfortable reading and debugging C/C++ code, from user space down to kernel drivers.
Security vulnerability management. You have experience identifying, triaging and resolving security vulnerabilities in embedded Linux systems.

Our Role

Champion work-life harmony. We’ll give you the flexibility you need in your work life (e.g., flexible vacation time above any required statutory leave, company-wide holidays, remote work options and more) so you can enjoy your personal life too. Plus, every five years, we give you a paid sabbatical to unplug and recharge.
Guarantee autonomy. We have an open, honest culture and we trust our people from day one. Your team will support you, but you’ll own your work and have the agency to try new ideas.
Encourage career growth. We’re lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We’ll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.
Provide an environment to help you succeed. We've invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But whether you’re at the office or working remotely, we’ll provide you the tech you need to do your best work.
Support your wellbeing. Depending on location, we offer medical and retirement benefits for employees—but no matter where you’re located, we have resources like our Employee Assistance Program and employee resource groups to support your mental health.
