At a Glance:
The Communications Specialist supports H&P’s internal communications efforts by developing and distributing clear, engaging content that helps employees stay informed and connected to company priorities, initiatives and culture. The role supports day-to-day employee communications, content development, communications campaigns and internal channels while working closely with Communications team members and business partners across the organization.
This is an execution-focused role ideal for an early-career communications professional with strong writing and organizational skills who is interested in developing experience across corporate and employee communications.
What you will do:
Employee Communications:

Draft and edit employee communications, including intranet articles, announcements, emails, newsletters, leader messages and other internal content.

Support communications for company initiatives, organizational updates, employee programs and events.

Gather information from business partners and subject matter experts and translate it into clear, employee-friendly content.

Assist with development of FAQs, talking points, presentations, toolkits and other communications materials.

Support employee engagement and culture communications.
Content & Channel Support:

Publish and maintain content across internal communications channels, including the company intranet and employee email platforms.

Support the Communications Calendar by coordinating content, deadlines and publishing schedules.

Assist with audience targeting and distribution of employee communications.

Help ensure content is accurate, timely and consistent with H&P messaging and brand standards.

Support basic communications measurement and reporting, including email and content performance metrics.
Campaign & Project Support:

Support communications campaigns and enterprise initiatives through content development, coordination and execution.

Assist project leads with communications deliverables, timelines and stakeholder coordination.

Coordinate with other Communications team members to support digital, international, external and community components of projects as needed.

Provide communications support for employee events, town halls and other company activities.
Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively across the Communications Center of Excellence to support team and business priorities.

Build effective working relationships with business partners and subject matter experts.

Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to support changing communications priorities.
What you need:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field preferred.

1–3 years of communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or related experience preferred; relevant internship experience may be considered.

Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.

Ability to communicate information clearly and appropriately for different employee audiences.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; experience with intranet, email communications or content management platforms is a plus.

Ability to work collaboratively and take direction while developing greater independence and communications expertise.
