Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
- Lead strategic relationships across an assigned portfolio of agency holding companies, independent agencies, and key accounts, driving long-term revenue growth and executive engagement.
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities by influencing agency planning cycles, uncovering client needs, and winning competitive RFPs.
- Build consultative partnerships with senior agency stakeholders, positioning Hearst as a trusted strategic media partner across integrated marketing solutions.
- Develop Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and long-term partnership strategies that expand investment, strengthen collaboration, and create sustainable growth opportunities.
- Represent Hearst's full portfolio of advertising capabilities—including digital, video, social, print, branded content, experiential, programmatic, data, and AI-enabled solutions—to deliver customized client outcomes.
- Lead negotiations and commercial discussions while partnering with internal cross-functional teams to deliver seamless client solutions.
- Expand executive relationships across agency investment, strategy, innovation, planning, and client leadership teams to increase Hearst's visibility and influence.
- Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline, accurately forecast revenue, and consistently achieve or exceed business goals.
Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
- 10+ years of experience in media sales, advertising, integrated marketing, or strategic business development with a strong focus on agency partnerships.
- Established relationships with senior leaders across agency holding companies and independent agencies.
- Demonstrated success exceeding revenue goals and growing strategic accounts through consultative, solution-based selling.
- Experience selling integrated media solutions across digital, video, social, print, branded content, experiential, programmatic, and data-driven offerings.
- Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Proven ability to navigate complex sales cycles and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Strong business acumen with experience managing pipelines, forecasting revenue, and prioritizing growth opportunities.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, sales forecasting tools, analytics, and presentation software.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Ability to work from our New York City office on a hybrid schedule of four days per week.

The base salary range for this role is $180,000–$195,000. This role is also eligible for bonus and/or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
Hearst Magazines currently anticipates hiring multiple individuals into this position. Applicants will be considered for any available Director, Agency Partnerships openings that align with their qualifications.
