The anticipated new hire base salary range for this full-time position is $162,000-$225,000 + equity + benefits. For candidates based in San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle, a separate salary range of $207,000-$258,750 applies.

Short Summary:
Headspace is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Core Platform team, which is essential for delivering capabilities across all Consumer and Business customers. This role involves driving technical strategy, growing a high-performing engineering team, and ensuring a reliable platform for product teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, attract, and grow stellar technical talent
- Develop and drive strategic roadmaps for delivering common capabilities
- Partner with product and engineering leaders to identify platform opportunities
- Ensure platform services meet availability, compliance, and operational standards
- Distill complexity for technical and non-technical audiences
- Identify architectural gaps and evaluate build-vs-buy tradeoffs
- Prioritize tradeoffs between reducing tech debt and developing new capabilities
- Explore new technologies to support future business needs
Requirement:
- 7+ years leading software development teams
- Experience in mobile development environments
- Experience with high-availability, distributed backend systems
- Proven ability to manage platform migrations or large-scale refactors
- Track record of building observability stacks
- Experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional roadmaps
- BS degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
