Short Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Backend Software Engineer to join the GrabDefence team in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. You will design, develop, and maintain backend systems that power our defense and security solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks
- Architect and implement microservices-based solutions that meet performance and reliability requirements
- Improve database queries and design efficient data models for both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Collaborate with teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Implement security best practices and conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and system integrity
- Develop and maintain comprehensive unit tests and integration tests to ensure code reliability
- Participate in system design discussions and contribute to technical documentation
Requirement:
- 3+ years of professional backend software development experience
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (Java, Python, Go, C++, or similar)
- Experience with RESTful API design and development principles
- Experience with relational and non-relational database systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Proficiency with version control systems (Git)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of message queue systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Background in security or defense-related systems
- Agile/Scrum development experience
