Data Platform Lead

For one of our clients we are looking for Data Platform Lead to own their end-to-end data infrastructure that should be supporting a new mobile game with the ambition of reaching hundreds of millions of users and processing billions of events every day.

As the founding leader of the data function, you will define the architecture, set our technical standards and together with the team build a data platform that powers decision-making across product, LiveOps and Marketing across the company.

For which tasks (responsibilities)?

• Define and own the end-to-end architecture of the data platform.

• Make, document, and defend key technology decisions, balancing scalability, cost, and team capacity.

• Partner with game, analytics, and marketing leadership to turn business needs into a platform roadmap with clear priorities and SLAs.

• Build core parts of the platform hands-on.

• Hire, mentor and grow the data engineering team.

• Establish engineering practices, review culture, and operational discipline

What kind of professional are we looking for?

• 7+ years in Data Engineering, including 2+ years as a tech lead or architect, with a track record of designing data platforms end-to-end.

• Strong architectural judgment, clear design documentation, and the ability to defend decisions in review.

• Expertise in cloud platforms, preferably AWS (S3, Kinesis, ECS, Athena etc), and modern data stack tools (dbt).

• Hands-on experience with ETL orchestration (Airflow or similar).

• Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and analytics best practices — schema design, partitioning, versioning, etc.

• Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure as code.

• Proficiency in Python and strong skills in writing and optimizing SQL.

• Experience hiring, mentoring, and growing engineers.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
