ABOUT YOU
ABOUT US
Main Mission
We're looking for a Senior Concept Artist to join a new PC/Console third-person cozy life-sim game currently in pre-production. With a particular focus on environment art, you'll help shape the game's world, atmosphere, and player experience.
What It Means on a Daily Basis
- Create concept art for games, mainly focused on environments, taking ideas from the initial brief through exploration, development, polish, and final production-ready images.
- Explore different visual solutions through sketches, ideation, mood pieces, and more developed concepts. Use your artistic judgement to solve visual and design problems and help bring the game's visual direction to life.
- Work closely with artists, designers, Art Leadership, and Production to solve creative challenges and make sure your concepts are useful and practical for the rest of the team.
- Take feedback on board and refine your work while considering aspects like: artistic quality, readability, scale, cost, reuse, modularity, gameplay needs.
- Use modern Concept Art workflows, including AI-assisted tools, and contribute ideas that can make the team's creative process more efficient.
What Success Will Look Like
First Month
- Build a strong understanding of the project's visual language, workflows, production context, and priorities.
- Become familiar with the team's standards and begin contributing meaningful visual solutions.
First 3 Months
- Become fully integrated into the team and take ownership of increasingly complex visual development challenges.
- Independently develop and communicate multiple visual solutions, balancing artistic quality with production needs.
- Build a solid collaboration with the rest of the game creation team
After 6-12 Months
- Take ownership of major areas of the game’s environment concept development.
- Manage complex visual development topics and challenges, delivering production-useful concepts that support the wider development team.
Who You'll Be Working With
You'll report to the Principal Concept Artist Lead and join a team of 13 Concept Artists.
- The Concept Art team in Bucharest.
- Concept Artists from international co-development teams in Saigon, Yogyakarta, and Kyiv.
- Designers, Art teams, and Production teams across the project.
Your Recruitment Journey
- HR Interview (40 min): A Teams discussion to learn more about the role, the team, and your experience.
- Art Test: A practical concept art exercise based on a brief similar to the work you’d do on the project. We'll look at both the final result and your creative process, including how you explored options and approached design decisions.
- Technical Interview: A discussion with the Principal Concept Artist Lead around your art test and portfolio, how you approached them, the choices you made, and how you usually work through visual and production problems.
- Final Interview: A discussion with our Studio Manager about how you think, make decisions, take ownership and work with others.
