Enterprise Data Architect (m/f/d)

As an Enterprise Data Architect, you will define and govern the enterprise-wide data architecture vision, principles, and standards across Fresenius, acting as the central authority for data architecture decisions. You will align data architecture with the broader enterprise architecture landscape, creating a consistent foundation for data platforms, integration, analytics, and governance capabilities.

Working across business, data, and technology teams, you will collaborate with enterprise architects, platform owners, and senior stakeholders up to executive level. You will drive architectural consistency, standardization, and modernization across operating companies, enabling trusted, scalable, and business-aligned data capabilities that support the Group’s transformation agenda.

Your responsibilities:

• Define and maintain the enterprise-wide data architecture vision, principles, and standards, providing a consistent architectural foundation across the data landscape.

• Act as the central authority for data architecture decisions within the data organization, and confirm architecture and solution proposals within your area of expertise.

• Govern reference architectures for data platforms, integration, and analytics, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture across platforms, applications, and technologies.

• Maintain end-to-end architectural oversight across the enterprise data landscape.

• Ensure the architecture supports key data governance capabilities, including data quality, metadata, lineage, and security.

• Partner with enterprise architects and platform owners to maintain cross-domain consistency and drive adoption of architecture standards across operating companies and platforms.

• Advise senior stakeholders and transformation programs on data architecture, translating business requirements into reliable concepts and solutions aligned with corporate and divisional strategy.

• Represent the organization towards cross-functional stakeholders, business partners, and external groups in international and virtual settings.

• Identify opportunities to modernize, standardize, and simplify the data landscape while continuously improving relevant services and processes.

• Assess architectural risks and define appropriate countermeasures, while overseeing the realization and operation of concepts and establishing measures for quality assurance.

Your qualifications:

• At least 15 years of experience in enterprise data architecture, platform architecture, or solution architecture roles.

• Proven experience defining and implementing enterprise-wide architecture standards and reference architectures.

• Strong background in data platforms, integration architectures, and analytics ecosystems such as data lakes, data warehouses, and integration layers.

• Demonstrated experience aligning data architecture with enterprise and IT architecture frameworks.

• Deep understanding of data governance principles and concepts across the data lifecycle, including metadata, lineage, and security.

• Experience ensuring architectural consistency across complex, decentralized, multi-entity organizations.

• Exposure to large-scale transformation programs, aligning architecture across business and technology initiatives.

• Fluent English, written and spoken.
