Short Summary:
Freenow empowers smarter mobility decisions and is looking for a Backend Engineer for their FinTech Team to build systems for controlled and transparent money flows.

Responsibilities:
- Own features end-to-end - from design and coding through testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Design and build microservices and APIs that are clean, well-documented, and easy for other teams to consume.
- Take part in code reviews as a reviewer and author.
- Proactively spot edge cases, gaps in test coverage, and technical debt.
- Collaborate in an agile environment and contribute to agile ceremonies.
- Support monitoring, alerting, and incident response for the services owned by the team.
- Help ramp up and support junior colleagues.
- Stay updated on the latest technology trends and apply best practices.

Requirement:
- 3-5 years of software engineering experience with Kotlin or Java in production systems.
- Comfortable designing RESTful APIs and reasoning about event-driven architectures.
- Solid experience with Spring (Boot) or a similar JVM framework, and understanding of relational databases and JPA/ORM patterns.
- Strong testing habits across the software lifecycle.
- Able to communicate technical topics clearly to different audiences.
- Preferably knowledge of financial systems like invoicing and payouts.
