AEO Marketing Director (Account Director)
Foundation helps B2B tech and SaaS brands get found, cited and recommended when their buyers ask AI for solutions. We do it through Generative Engine Optimization (GEO): the research, content, distribution and optimization that build a brand’s presence across LLMs, search, Reddit, YouTube and the sources they draw on.
Mission of the Role
You own a book of $1.5–2.5M across three to six B2B tech and SaaS clients, sometimes including a $500k+ anchor. For each one you own the relationship, the strategic roadmap, the renewal, the growth and the margin. Clients see you as the person who knows their business and where their program should go next.
This isn’t a people-management role, though you’ll mentor Associate AEO Marketing Directors.
On our enterprise accounts, AEO Marketing Directors own the client relationship, the strategic roadmap and the account’s growth. AEO Program Directors lead the dedicated team that delivers the work, and work with the client every week alongside you.
Reports to: a Group AEO Marketing Director.
What you'll own

- The relationship with each client's VP of marketing or budget holder, plus at least one more senior contact.

- Expansion. You find, price and close new scope, using the AEO Program Director's sizing.
- Book margin and scope. You price or decline changes rather than absorbing them.
- Client health. You flag risk early and run the recovery with the AEO Program Director.
What you bring
- 7+ years in agency account leadership, client services or marketing strategy.
- A book of $1M+ that you've owned, with renewals and expansions you personally closed.
