Junior BDM (Entry Level)
About the opportunity
We’re looking for a hungry, people-loving entry-level Business Development Manager to help grow First Table across London, one of the world’s great food cities.
No sales experience? No problem. We care more about your drive, your confidence and how quickly you learn than about what’s on your CV. You’ll get a clear patch, a target list built from our market data, and support from experienced BDMs to help you get off to a flying start.
This is a full-time, permanent, field-based role in London, and part of our biggest push yet to deepen our presence in the city.
About us
At First Table, our vision is simple: to be the first place diners go to book a table.
Proudly established in Queenstown, New Zealand - where our head office is based - we've been leading the charge in the hospitality tech industry for over a decade, with operations spanning New Zealand, Australia, and the UK. First Table now offers our great dining experiences at amazing restaurants across the UK, and we are doubling down on building a strong presence and connected team across the UK.
First Table is a dining discovery platform that connects diners to restaurants through their love of food. Through our clever tech, we help restaurants get their night off to a great start and give diners a compelling reason to try somewhere new. It’s a win-win situation. From early bird offers to last table reservations, we make discovering and booking great dining experiences fast, easy, and rewarding.
At the heart of everything we do are our values: Grow Together, Win-Win-Win, and Own It. These guide how we show up for each other, our restaurant partners, and our diners and they’re a big part of what makes First Table a great place to work.

About the role
You’ll be out on the streets of your London patch, walking into restaurants, building relationships with owners and managers, and signing them up to First Table. Every restaurant you sign is a win you can point to.
You’ll learn the job alongside our experienced London BDMs, with a structured onboarding, regular coaching and clear targets that build as you ramp up. Do well, and there’s a real path to Senior BDM and beyond as we grow.
If you love food, love talking to people, and want to learn how to sell in a role where you see the results of your work every day, this is for you.
What you’ll be doing
- Get out into your London patch every day, visiting restaurants in person and starting conversations with owners and managers.
- Work through a target list built from our market data, deciding where to focus your time for the best results.
- Pitch First Table, handle objections with confidence, and sign restaurants up, often in a single conversation.
- Get new restaurants live quickly by guiding them through setup and their first offers.
- Follow up with prospects who said “not yet”, building trust over weeks and months until the timing is right.
- Keep your pipeline up to date in HubSpot so you, your manager and the team can see what’s working.
- Learn from experienced BDMs through shadowing, coaching and regular feedback, and share what you learn with the team.
What you’ll bring
You don’t need previous sales experience. You do need:
- Confidence talking to new people, including walking into a busy restaurant and starting a conversation with someone you’ve never met.
- Resilience: you can hear “no”, learn from it, and go again with the same energy.
- Drive and competitiveness, shown somewhere in your life so far, whether through work, sport, a side project or a personal goal you went after.
- A genuine love of food, restaurants or hospitality. Experience working in hospitality is a big plus.
- The ability to organise your own day, prioritise well and stay motivated when working independently in the field.
- A hunger to learn: you ask for feedback, act on it, and want to grow your career in sales.
- No degree or specific qualifications needed. We care more about what you’ve done and how you think.
Why you’ll love working with us
- A full-time, permanent role with flexible working hours and the autonomy to manage your own schedule
- Remote-first, but never remote-feeling, with regular London team meetups
- Competitive OTE (base salary + commission), plus paid travel
- Structured onboarding, regular coaching and a clear path to Senior BDM
- Free First Table bookings as a team perk - perfect for fellow food lovers.
- We recognise great work, with team-wide recognition shoutouts, referral incentives, and regular opportunities to celebrate wins.
- Being part of a purpose-led, award-winning brand that champions exceptional dining experiences and values creativity, collaboration and growth.
