We are looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to join our CIAM and Fraud delivery team, which provides technology solutions and integration services to support our Commercial and Personal and Business Banking Digital Platforms. The ideal candidate should have the necessary skills and experience to provide technical guidance, estimation of efforts, understanding and deciding upon the optimal technology solution to achieve the desired business needs, day to day application support, should be able to navigate differing levels of gray/unknowns, and have excellent communication skills with other IT management levels, individual contributors and business stakeholders.  They must be able to move at a rapid rate of execution to deliver requests and take advantage of any opportunities as they present themselves and navigate through any resource constraints. They must have both the short- and long-term strategic view when deciding on the best technical approach.  They must be able to develop code and effectively oversee distributed development team members.  

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities:

As a Senior Software Engineer, primary responsibility will be towards the development and support of CIAM and Fraud solutions/projects. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for all software aspects within the team including research, design, technology insertion, development, testing and supporting them.

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and reliable technical solutions that meet business and user requirements for functionality, performance, and availability.
• Lead and support the proactive maintenance of IaaS, SaaS, and on-premises applications to ensure mission-critical systems remain stable, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs.
• Coordinate and assist with the troubleshooting and resolution of application issues, including code defects, data integrity issues, and configuration-related problems.
• Demonstrated experience supporting complex, business-critical applications in a production environment.
• Exercise sound technical judgment to evaluate options, manage ambiguity, and determine appropriate actions within established processes and guidelines.
• Prior technical leadership experience on small to mid-sized projects is preferred.
• Champion engineering best practices, promote adherence to development standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including unit, integration, and system testing practices.
• Knowledge of software quality controls, including peer code reviews, automated testing, security scanning, and CI/CD quality gates.
• Familiarity with API testing and documentation tools such as RestAssured, Postman, and Swagger UI.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing real-time and file-based integrations, with the ability to optimize database processing and performance.
• Advocate for a positive developer experience through thoughtful design, tooling, automation, and engineering practices.
• Develop clean, maintainable, well-documented, and secure software solutions that align with architectural standards and business objectives.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Software application development and maintenance
• Experience in banking or regulated financial services
• Strong design & development experience with Enterprise Technologies: Java, JMS, JDBC, Web development, Transactions, WS-*, JVM, JSP, Servlets, EJB, JNDI, JMX, JTA, Spring, JUnit, Hibernate, Python.
• Understanding of fraud prevention, risk-based authentication, and secure digital journeys.
• OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML
• Experience of Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience of Okta CIAM preferred

The base pay for this position is generally between $135,000 and $155,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
