The Career Development Services Creative Marketing Student Assistant is responsible for working collaboratively with the Career Event & Marketing Coordinator on creating marketing items and branding materials for the Career Development Services Office. The Creative Marketing Assistant will be tasked with a variety of design projects relating to print production, digital media, and graphics development. This position is an ideal opportunity for those pursuing either a Concentration or Minor in Digital Media Design or Marketing. The student in this position will develop highly marketable skills and continue to refine their knowledge of industry-leading software. They will expand their skill set and develop a deeper understanding of the design process, file management, and proofing.
Job Description
Essential Job Functions
Responsibilities for the Creative Marketing Student Assistant include (but are not limited to) the following duties:
- Create and update layouts and designs for a variety of projects such as flyers, banners, posters, resource guides, postcards, marketing materials, social media graphics, etc.
- Ensure files are print-ready
- Schedule and distribute marketing materials
- Maintain an organized file structure and version control
- Correct and retouch images for print publications and web use
- Reply to design edits in a timely fashion
- Assist as necessary with department events and perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Assist in the development and implementation of the social media posting schedule
Minimum Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Digital Media Design or Marketing
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud - InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom, and Photoshop
- Experience with Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Previous graphic design experience (coursework or portfolio work accepted)
- Proficient using the PC and/or Mac operating system
- Current FGCU student
