When you work at Fetch, you play a vital role in a platform that drives brand loyalty and creates lifelong consumers with the power of Fetch points. User and partner success are at the heart of everything we do, and we extend that same commitment to our employees.
At Fetch, we value curiosity, adaptability, and the confidence to explore new tools, especially AI, to drive smarter, faster work. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be ready to learn quickly and think critically. We welcome learners who move fast, challenge the status quo, and shape what’s next, with us. Ranked as one of America’s Best Startup Employers by Forbes for two years in a row, Fetch fosters a people-first culture rooted in trust, accountability, and innovation. We encourage our employees to challenge ideas, think bigger, and always bring the fun to Fetch.
About the Role:
Fetch is looking for a Principal Product Designer to shape the long-term experience direction for how people discover, understand, and act on ways to earn.
You will lead the connected experiences across Ad Surfaces: Home, Search, Navigation, and Earnings; making them work as one clear, relevant, and rewarding system. These are some of Fetch’s most visible and behavior-shaping experiences, helping millions of people find value in their day-to-day lives.
You will own the experience quality and outcomes across this product area, laying the foundation for how information is organized, how people move between surfaces, what appears when, and how personalized opportunities earn attention and trust. You will establish the principles, patterns, and decision frameworks that help teams make consistent choices, while partnering with Product and Engineering leaders on strategy, roadmap priorities, and investment decisions.
This is a senior individual-contributor role, not a people-management role. You will lead through product judgment, design craft, clear thinking, and influence. You will move from long-term vision and problem framing to hands-on design, prototyping, launch, and iteration.
This role is for someone who would rather build the standard than inherit one, and wants their decisions to help millions of people live more rewarded every day.
This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Fetch (Role Responsibilities):
- Lead multi-quarter initiatives across packs: Home, Search, Navigation, and Earnings; ensuring they work together as one discovery and earning experience.
- Set the architecture for the earning journey, including information hierarchy, navigation, the role of each surface, interaction principles, and quality standards.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to identify high-value opportunities and shape roadmap, priorities, investment decisions, and key trade-offs.
- Create practical frameworks for balancing user value, business goals, technical constraints, personalization, experimentation, and customer trust.
- Define how the team experiments with "what's next" earning opportunities, using rapid learning to improve comprehension, repeat engagement, and long-term retention.
- Partner with Research to uncover unmet needs and untested earning opportunities, turning early signals into concepts worth building.
- Raise the bar for usability, accessibility, interaction quality, visual craft, and design-system consistency across the product area.
- Find recurring experience problems and turn them into reusable patterns, principles, and tools that improve quality and help teams move faster.
- Communicate design strategy through both writing and conversation, distilling it into trade-offs leadership can act on and narratives that align Product and Engineering.
- Raise the level of design critique and feedback across the team, mentoring other designers and helping them grow into stronger, more independent decision-makers.
What Success Looks Like
In your first 12 months, you will:
- Establish a shared earning and discovery architecture that helps teams make faster, more consistent product decisions.
- Help set multi-quarter priorities that make earning easier to understand, more relevant, and more rewarding for Fetch users.
- Improve consistency across Home, Search, Navigation, Earnings, and other surfaces through reusable patterns, principles, and design-system contributions.
- Create an experimentation practice that increases learning speed without sacrificing clarity, choice, or customer trust.
- Make the broader design team stronger through mentoring and scalable practices for critique, feedback, and decision-making.
- Own the outcomes, driving measurable improvements in activation, engagement, repeat earning, retention, and customer confidence
In your Toolbox (Minimum Requirements):
- 12+ years of product design experience.
- A track record of leading multi-quarter product initiatives across multiple teams, surfaces, or customer journeys.
- Experience owning measurable customer and business outcomes for a broad product area, not just producing strong artifacts or isolated features.
- Deep skill in information architecture, navigation, discovery, and systems thinking for complex consumer products.
- The ability to turn ambiguous customer, business, and technical problems into clear direction, testable hypotheses, and durable solutions.
- Experience influencing senior Product and Engineering leaders on strategy, roadmap choices, priorities, and trade-offs.
- A habit of partnering with Research to identify unmet needs and validate new directions before committing engineering investment.
- Evidence that you've established standards, patterns, frameworks, or ways of working that improved product quality and team effectiveness across a broad product area.
- Exceptional interaction and visual-design craft, including a high bar for usability, accessibility, and production quality.
- A history of mentoring experienced designers and raising the quality of team critique, feedback, and decision-making.
- Comfort moving across squads and teams with different norms and priorities, building trust quickly without needing formal authority.
- Comfort operating where the problem, process, and path to impact are still being defined.
Nice to haves/Bonus Points
- Experience designing consumer mobile products at a meaningful scale.
- Experience with rewards, loyalty, commerce, marketplaces, gaming, personalization, or repeat-engagement mechanics.
- Experience developing experimentation strategies with Analytics or Data Science partners.
- Experience partnering with content design, illustration, motion, or brand teams.
- Experience launching a zero-to-one product area or evolving a mature product's experience architecture.
- Experience designing AI-supported product experiences or using AI-enabled design workflows.
About the Team
We own the connected experiences that help people discover, understand, and act on ways to earn: Home, Search, Navigation, and Earnings.
Our work is not limited to organizing information or designing individual screens. We define how these experiences work together: what people see, when they see it, why it is relevant, and how each interaction builds confidence and motivates a return visit.
We identify friction that spans surfaces and turn it into durable patterns, principles, and systems that make the broader Fetch experience stronger.
Design has real authority at Fetch. We set the bar for experience quality, partner with Engineering on design-system direction, and participate in discovery, roadmap, and launch reviews. We are trusted to make those calls.
We grow by teaching each other. No egos, just people who want to get better and help the people around them do the same.
Compensation: At Fetch, we offer competitive compensation packages including base, equity, and benefits to the exceptional folks we hire.
