Junior Software Engineer - New Grad (2026-2027)

At Fellow.ai, we're on a mission to give every employee their own AI-powered Chief of Staff. It's an assistant that understands your meeting discussions, surfaces key insights, answers questions, and takes action so you can focus on what matters most.

We're hiring a small group of exceptional new grads to join our Engineering team full-time. This isn't a rotational program or a sliver of a mature system. From your first month, you'll own real features that ship to customers like Shopify and HubSpot. You'll go from concept to production in days, not months. You'll work directly with Product and Design, and you'll use AI tools like Cursor and Claude to ship faster while raising the quality bar. You'll be paired with a senior engineer mentor who's invested in helping you grow quickly.

Our Engineering Culture
On the Engineering team at Fellow, we value rapid delivery, craftsmanship, and continuous learning. We ship big features multiple times per week and iterate quickly while keeping reliability and polish front of mind. We lean on AI tools and rigorous code review to raise the bar. We share knowledge through book clubs and lunch-and-learns, and we unleash big ideas at our twice-yearly hackathons. Above all, we collaborate openly, give fast feedback, and celebrate wins as a team.

Why Fellow?
Fellow is a remote-first, Series A startup backed by Craft Ventures, iNovia, and Felicis. Our founders previously built Fluidware (acquired by SurveyMonkey). Today we help the world's best teams make meetings more productive with the power of AI, from Shopify, HubSpot, and Warner Media to startups across the globe.

For a new grad, that means:

• Ownership from day one: you'll ship AI features used by thousands of people, not tickets on a legacy system.

• Accelerated growth: small teams, a dedicated mentor, and fast feedback mean you'll learn in a year what takes three elsewhere.

• AI-native engineering: you'll build real depth in the most in-demand skill set in software today.

• Build your career in Ottawa: you don't have to move to Toronto or the US to work on hard, interesting problems.

About the Role

• Engineering Excellence: Build and ship features end-to-end with React/TypeScript, Django/Python, and GraphQL, from API design to polished UI. Write clean, performant, and maintainable code.

• AI-Powered Development: Use Cursor, Claude, n8n, and other cutting-edge AI tools daily to move faster and raise the quality bar on everything you ship.

• Outcome-Oriented Delivery: Focus on work that meaningfully moves product and business metrics, turning requirements into user impact rather than just output.

• Collaborative Development: Partner closely with Product, Design, and QA to turn concepts into polished experiences that delight users.

• Quality & Testing: Write unit, integration, and regression tests. Take part in thoughtful code reviews, both giving and receiving them.

• Technical Specifications: Draft tech specs, break work into deliverable pieces, and define success metrics. Your mentor will coach you along the way.

• Growing With Us: As you ramp up, you'll take on larger projects and lead features from idea to launch.

About You
You might be a great fit if you:

• Are graduating (or recently graduated) with a degree or diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related program.

• Have built things you're proud of, such as co-op projects, side projects with real users, open-source contributions, or hackathon builds. Show us.

• Are relentlessly curious about AI and already use tools like Cursor or Claude to supercharge your productivity.

• Want to own features end-to-end and see the direct impact of your work.

• Are a natural problem-solver who digs into root causes rather than applying quick fixes, and who sees technical challenges as opportunities to learn.

• Communicate clearly and collaborate well across disciplines.

• Are comfortable with ambiguity and like taking initiative in a startup where no two days look the same.
