Senior Software Developer, Warsaw (Remote | 3 openings)Code is a tool; solving high-stakes problems is our craft. At Exponent, we bridge the gap between rigorous business engineering and the future of autonomous systems. Founded by EPFL & HEC alumni, we are the trusted partner for Swiss industry leaders navigating the AI frontier.
We are opening our first engineering hub in Warsaw and hiring the three senior software developers who will start it. You join our core team, not a staff-augmentation pool, and work across our AI platforms, web apps and mobile products with the same standards of quality we hold in Geneva.
Why this role is differentBuild the hub from day one: as one of the first three engineers in Warsaw, you shape how the team works, which tools it uses and how it grows.
Real product ownership: you join our project teams, own features end to end and ship code that Swiss industry leaders depend on.
Full-stack, full-cycle: from data ingestion to the interfaces end users rely on, across Python and TypeScript.
Modern stack, real AI: RAG pipelines and LLM agents on real, often fragmented enterprise data, not toy demos.
Geneva multiple times a year: a direct flight from Warsaw, two to three days with the team and our clients, fully covered.
Your missionDesign, build and ship features across our web, mobile and AI products.
Build RAG pipelines and LLM agents, and the APIs behind them (FastAPI, Node).
Build web apps in React / Next.js, and mobile apps in React Native or Flutter when a project needs one.
Write clean, tested and maintainable code in Python and/or TypeScript.
Build with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor or similar) as your daily workflow, and help shape how the Warsaw team works with them.
Work closely with our Geneva team and, when relevant, directly with our clients' technical teams.
Own your work from spec to production, code review and quality included.
Professional requirements5+ years of professional software development with a full-stack foundation, or fewer if what you’ve shipped speaks for itself.
Strong in Python and/or TypeScript; comfortable with modern frameworks (React/Next.js, FastAPI/Node or equivalent).
Hands-on experience building with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or similar), including:
Context engineering: structuring repos, instruction files (CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md), MCP tools and task scope so agents work with the right context.
Spec-driven development: writing clear specs and plans before handing work to an agent.
Test-driven development: using tests as the guardrail that keeps agent output correct.
Judgment: you know when to trust an agent and when to step in, and you review, test and understand every change before it ships, whoever wrote it.
Data-aware by default: you know when client data can go to an external AI API and when it calls for a self-hosted model, and you design with Swiss and EU privacy rules (nFADP, GDPR) in mind.
Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory: this is an English-first team, and you will use it every day. French is a plus.
Self-driven and reliable in a remote setting, with strong communication and documentation habits.
Curious and adaptable: you keep up with a field that changes every month, try new models and tools early, and share what works with the team.
Based in Warsaw or nearby.
Willing to travel to Geneva multiple times a year for 2–3 days for team syncs, workshops and key client milestones.
Bonus: LLMs in production (LangChain, LlamaIndex or your own stack), evals for LLM features, running agents in parallel (subagents, worktrees), SQL, cloud, mobile (React Native / Flutter).
Engagement & setupA long-term, full-time collaboration as part of our core engineering team.
Contract: full-time Polish employment contract (umowa o pracę), arranged through an employment and payroll partnerCompensation: PLN 21,000–26,000 gross per monthAI tools: your AI coding tools are covered by Exponent.
