Short Summary:
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Data and Partner Platform team (DAP) and help shape the future of energy technology. You will drive architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and build reliable, scalable systems in the energy industry.
Responsibilities:
- Technical leadership and vision
- Champion long-term excellence by envisioning ideal approaches to complex processes.
- Coordinate across engineering teams to align on technical direction, standards, and best practices.
- Develop deep domain expertise in utility programs, demand responses, and regulatory realities.
- Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to balance business-driven and team-driven priorities.
- Architect and implement scalable systems for data processing and maintenance.
- Lead schema design and data flow architecture.
- Build and maintain microservices and APIs.
- Drive investigations from alert to resolution and build operational scripts.
- Mentor and develop engineers across the team and broader organization.
Requirement:
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated staff-level responsibilities.
- Proven full-stack engineering background with experience scaling distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency with gRPC/protobuf, RESTful APIs, and contract-driven development.
- Clear understanding of OLAP and OLTP relational databases.
- Experience integrating complex partner APIs and building file-driven data pipelines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
