MicroStrategy BI Architect / Developer

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior MicroStrategy BI Architect & Developer to join a newly established, cutting-edge data team focused heavily on our corporate AI Analytics Track. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical infrastructure and strategic reporting, bringing both hands-on report development expertise and high-level architectural acumen.
You will work closely with our Solution Architecture and Data Modeling teams to establish security schemas, define access, and drive the standard for how the organization builds out complex analytical dashboards. Additionally, as a senior member of this growing team, you will act as a mentor to mid and senior-level MicroStrategy developers and assist in training junior resources.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Delivery: Serve as a hybrid Architect and Developer, building complex, responsive data analytics dashboards entirely from scratch using MicroStrategy while guiding overall structural best practices.
- AI Analytics Engineering: Leverage the latest cloud-native, generative AI-powered features of the MicroStrategy ecosystem to deliver modern analytics.
- Data Strategy & Schema Design: Collaborate directly with Data Modeling and Enterprise Solution Architecture teams to establish robust access controls, map semantic graphs, and dictate data pipelines feeding MicroStrategy.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Provide technical guidance to mid/senior developers and actively train and upskill junior-level team members.
- Governance & Optimization: Manage cloud-hosted workspaces, monitoring user adoption, query performance, and infrastructure behaviors.
This position requires a Face to Face final round interview in Reston VA.

Required Skills

Required Experience & Technical Skills
- 8+ years of recent, hands-on, MicroStrategy Platform experience, including: Advanced Analytics Reports, Visual Insight Dashboards and Report Services Document creation.
- Enterprise Scale: Proven experience working within a large-scale enterprise environment.
- MicroStrategy Platform Mastery: Comprehensive, hands-on experience with MicroStrategy ONE (the cloud-powered platform) and its specialized suite:
-A- MicroStrategy Mosaic (Studio & Sentinel) for semantic modeling, metadata oversight, and cloud cost/query governance.
-B- MicroStrategy AI / Auto suite (Auto Answers, Auto Dashboard, Auto SQL) to deliver generative AI solutions.
-C- MicroStrategy Cloud Environment (MCE) / MicroStrategy Cloud Platform (MCP) utilizing a cloud-managed server environment.
- BI Tool Versatility: Strong background leveraging MicroStrategy as the core platform, balanced with hands-on experience utilizing secondary BI suites (e.g., Tableau or similar).
- Data Programming: Strong proficiency in SQL and/or Python for data manipulation, analytics automation, and database scripting (experience with both is highly preferred).
- Architectural Foundations: Full lifecycle experience setting up user access, building logical/physical schemas, and designing enterprise semantic layers.
- Experience working with Transformations, Complex reports, Report Services Documents (Dashboards), Rolling Metrics, Nested Metrics, Relationship Filters, VLDB Properties (multi-pass sql, hints, etc)
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare Payer Industry experience (highly preferred).
- Demonstrated background or direct project exposure in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) tracks.
- Experience with Big Data environments (Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra, etc.)
