Inside Sales Representative I / II / III
Inside Sales Representative I / II / III, Digital Engineering & Sustainment Platform
Fairborn, OH
Our client is a trusted Prime Contractor to the U.S. Department of War, delivering a cloud-based digital engineering and sustainment platform selected as the permanent technology-enabling capability for a major Department of War digital manufacturing initiative. The platform supports engineering, manufacturing, product quality, and supply-chain-risk capabilities for DoD program offices, depots, arsenals, and shipyards, and extends those same capabilities to Allied partners, OEMs, and small-to-medium manufacturers. As the platform scales, our client is building out an Inside Sales team to drive pipeline and adoption. As a result of continued growth, we are looking for energetic, mission-driven sales professionals to join the team immediately.
Position Summary
The Inside Sales Representative is the front line connecting the platform's engineering, manufacturing, product quality, and supply-chain-risk capabilities to the people who need them: program managers, depot leadership, contracting officers, and manufacturing engineers across the defense industrial base. This is a leveled role (I, II, III), with scope, account complexity, and autonomy increasing at each level. All levels work closely with our client's product leadership and capture team to turn awareness into qualified pipeline.
Key Responsibilities (all levels)
- Research and identify DoD program offices, DLA, Arsenals/Depots/Shipyards, OEMs, and Small-to-Medium Manufacturers who are strong candidates for platform adoption.
- Execute outbound prospecting via phone, email, and LinkedIn to introduce the platform's capabilities and value proposition.
- Qualify leads against requirement, funding, acquisition path, and timeline before handing off or advancing an opportunity.
- Schedule and support discovery calls and product demonstrations, partnering with solutions engineers and capture leads.
- Maintain accurate, current CRM records to support pipeline visibility and forecasting.
- Monitor SAM.gov, GovWin, and related sources for relevant RFIs, RFQs, and contract vehicle opportunities.
- Learn the platform's capability stack (PDM/PLM, CAD/CAM/CAE, digital twins, manufacturing simulation, cybersecurity, supply chain risk management) well enough to translate it into mission outcomes for both technical and non-technical buyers.
- Collaborate with client leadership on strategic account pursuits and respond to RFIs/RFQs as needed.
Level I, Associate Inside Sales Representative
Entry point for someone building a career in defense SaaS sales. Focused on lead generation, qualification, and learning the platform's value proposition under the guidance of Level II/III reps and capture leadership.
- 0 to 2 years of sales, SDR, or BDR experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong communicator, comfortable with cold outreach and high call/email volume.
- Genuine interest in the defense and government market; willingness to learn FAR/DFARS basics and SAM.gov.
Level II, Inside Sales Representative
Owns a defined book of smaller, transactional opportunities end to end and partners with capture leadership on larger, more complex pursuits.
- 2 to 5 years of inside sales or SDR/BDR experience, ideally with SaaS or federal/DoD exposure.
- Proven track record building pipeline and booking qualified meetings.
- CRM proficiency (Salesforce or similar) and comfort with sales engagement tools.
- Familiarity with SAM.gov, GovWin, or similar federal opportunity-tracking tools is a plus.
Level III, Senior Inside Sales Representative
Owns larger accounts and territory, mentors Level I/II reps, and works directly with client leadership on strategic pursuits. A strong track record here is a realistic path toward a future Account Executive or Capture role as the team scales.
- 5+ years of federal/DoD inside sales or SaaS sales experience.
- Demonstrated success owning full transactional deal cycles, from first contact to close.
- Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS fundamentals and common contract vehicles (IDIQ, BPA, GSA Schedules).
- Comfortable presenting to program managers, contracting officers, and technical stakeholders alike.
- Experience mentoring or informally leading junior sales team members is a plus.
