Responsibilities
Observability Architecture & Strategy
-
Define and own the end‑to‑end observability architecture using Dynatrace across on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Design scalable, secure, and resilient monitoring and APM architectures aligned with enterprise standards.

Establish observability best practices, standards, and patterns for applications, infrastructure, networks, and cloud services.

Translate business and operational requirements into Dynatrace platform design and roadmap
Dynatrace Platform Design & Implementation
-
Lead the design, deployment, and configuration of Dynatrace (Managed/SaaS) including Cluster, OneAgents, ActiveGate, extensions, and integrations.

Architect solutions for APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, DEM (RUM & Synthetic), Log Monitoring, and Cloud Observability.

Ensure optimal design for performance, high availability, and scalability of the Dynatrace platform.

Define data organization standards (tenant, management zone, tagging, etc) and access control.
Integration & Automation
-
Design and implement integrations with:
-
CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub) – Good to have.

ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
-
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
-
Containers and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
-

Drive automation of monitoring, alerting, and remediation using Dynatrace APIs, workflows, and SRE practices.

Enable shift‑left observability and DevSecOps monitoring use cases.
Vendor & Platform Roadmap Management
-
Act as the technical liaison with Dynatrace for architecture discussions, escalations, and roadmap alignment.

Evaluate new Dynatrace features and drive adoption of next‑generation capabilities.

Contribute to platform evolution, upgrades, and long‑term observability strategy.
Documentation & Knowledge Enablement

Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, standards, runbooks, and design documents.

Define operating models and handover processes for support teams.
-
Support training initiatives and knowledge transfer across teams.
Qualifications
-
Strong communication and executive level presentation skills.
-
Extensive experience with Dynatrace implementations.

Strong Applications and Infrastructure system design patterns and solutions knowledge in both traditional and cloud environments.

Dynatrace Implementation or Administration professional certification.
-
Canadian permanent resident or citizen.
Years of Experience: 8-15 years
Level of Formal Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is preferred but not necessary.
