Responsibilities

• The Senior QA Automation Engineer owns test automation for the Oracle Fusion Cloud estate (Financials, Procurement, HCM and their integrations). The role is automation-first: the majority of the time is spent designing, building and maintaining automated regression packs in Opkey and Tricentis Tosca, wiring them into Azure DevOps pipelines and using them to de-risk Oracle quarterly updates, patches and enhancement releases. The remainder covers test strategy, SIT/UAT coordination and reporting. The engineer works as an individual contributor within the Quality Engineering team, collaborates closely with Business Analysts, functional consultants, Oracle/Opkey vendors and business users, and is expected to raise the level of automation coverage and release confidence year on year.

SKILLS

Must have

• Minimum 5 years of QA experience covering functional, integration, end-to-end, SIT and UAT support, with at least 3 years focused on test automation.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent combined education and experience.
• Own the test-automation backlog for Oracle Fusion Cloud: analyse functional, integration and end-to-end scenarios, identify and prioritise candidates for automation based on risk, frequency and Oracle update impact.
• Design, build and maintain automated regression packs in Opkey (Oracle-certified pre-built components and custom flows) and Tricentis Tosca (UI and API), following a reusable, data-driven and maintainable framework design.
• Lead the automation response to Oracle quarterly updates: run impact analysis, execute automated regression, triage failures, distinguish product changes from defects and report readiness to the release board.
• Integrate automated suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines with scheduled and on-demand execution, environment/test-data provisioning, result publishing and defect linkage.
• Collaborate with Opkey and Oracle implementation vendors on framework setup, automation-pack creation, licensing/upgrade activities and knowledge transfer; review vendor-delivered scripts for quality before acceptance.
• Automate data validation and reconciliation checks (SQL / BI Publisher / OTBI extracts, REST/SOAP integration payloads) for interfaces between Fusion modules and downstream systems.
• Contribute to the Test & Automation Strategy: coverage targets, tooling roadmap, environment strategy, metrics (automation coverage, execution time, defect leakage) and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Plan and execute functional, integration, regression and SIT test cycles where automation is not yet in place; support UAT by preparing scripts, coaching business testers and triaging findings.
• Track and report test execution progress, risks and issues; publish regular test status and automation dashboards to the project team and escalate blockers promptly.
• Liaise with Business, BAs, functional consultants and IT to understand requirements, configurations and design documents; review them for testability and completeness.
• Maintain automation assets, test data and documentation in the team's repositories and qTest/ADO Test Plans; share best practices and coach colleagues on automation techniques.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Opkey experience (minimum 1 year) automating Oracle Fusion Cloud, including collaboration with vendors on Opkey framework implementation and building automation packs. • Strong Tricentis Tosca experience (minimum 3 years) covering UI and API automation, and prior hands-on experience building Tosca automated regression packs from scratch. • Strong functional knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and/or HCM (Financials, Procurement, HCM) or Oracle EBS, including the quarterly-update lifecycle and its regression impact (minimum 3 years). • Working SQL skills for back-end data validation and test-data preparation; familiarity with OTBI / BI Publisher reports and REST/SOAP web-service testing. • Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps (Pipelines, Repos, Test Plans); Git-based version control of automation assets. • Solid grasp of test design techniques, risk-based testing, defect lifecycle and test-management tooling (qTest and/or ADO Test Plans). • Ability to contribute to strategy and planning discussions and to present automation results to technical and business stakeholders. • Desirable: exposure to stress, load and performance testing (e.g. JMeter, LoadRunner); Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) testing; scripting in Python, Java or C# for custom utilities; ISTQB or Tosca/Opkey certifications.
