Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America are looking for Consultants to be part of the project The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches. The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia. The selected resource will be working in a newly setup technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation. Client is looking for an experienced Murex Test Automation Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in MxTest, test case automation, and validation of results across multiple Murex environments. The candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining automated regression suites, improving test coverage, and embedding continuous testing practices within the DevOps delivery lifecycle. The role requires a good understanding of Murex functional and technical modules, enabling the candidate to translate business scenarios into effective automated test cases and identify issues arising from configuration, code, market data, or environment differences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases using Murex MxTest.
• Automate functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing scenarios across the Murex platform.
• Execute automated test suites and validate/compare results across multiple environments, such as Development, SIT, UAT, Pre-Production, and Production-like environments.
• Analyse test failures and identify whether discrepancies are caused by configuration, code changes, static data, market data, interfaces, or environment-specific differences.
• Develop reusable test components and improve the overall automation and regression coverage.
• Work closely with Murex developers, functional analysts, business analysts, and support teams to define appropriate testing strategies.
• Demonstrate a good understanding of Murex modules and end-to-end trade lifecycle, including areas such as trade capture, pricing, market data, workflows, settlements, accounting, interfaces, and reporting.
• Participate in testing of Murex configuration changes, enhancements, upgrades, patches, and production fixes.
• Integrate automated MxTest execution into CI/CD and DevOps pipelines to enable continuous testing.
• Support automated test execution as part of deployments and release cycles, with clear reporting of test results and failures.
• Contribute to shift-left testing practices, identifying defects early in the development lifecycle.
• Maintain test evidence, execution reports, defect tracking, and regression test packs.
• Continuously identify opportunities to reduce manual testing effort and improve release quality, testing efficiency, and deployment confidence.

SKILLS

Must have

• 6-9 years of strong hands-on experience with Murex MxTest / Murex Test Automation.
• Experience in designing and implementing automated Murex test cases and regression suites.
• Strong experience in test result validation and comparison across environments.
• Good functional understanding of the Murex platform and key Murex modules.
• Understanding of front-to-back trade processing and testing of Murex business workflows.
• Ability to troubleshoot automated test failures and analyse environmental or configuration differences.
• Experience working in Agile delivery and DevOps environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing practices.
• Experience integrating automated testing into application build, deployment, and release processes.
• Good understanding of defect management, regression testing, test evidence, and release validation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across functional and technical teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Murex upgrades, migrations, or major platform transformation programmes. • Exposure to multiple asset classes such as FX, Rates, Fixed Income, Credit, or Derivatives. • Knowledge of scripting, SQL, Unix/Linux, or similar technologies used for test data preparation and result validation. • Experience with enterprise DevOps/CI-CD tooling. • Understanding of automated release validation, quality gates, and continuous regression testing.
