Project description
We are looking for a senior Java developer to join our client's team and contribute to the development of modern, scalable back-end services. You'll be part of a collaborative team focused on clean code, agile methodologies, and delivering high-quality solutions. The client is from the investment banking industry.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring
Implement data access using Hibernate and SQL, with attention to performance and maintainability
Containerize and deploy applications on Kubernetes
Provision and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform
Define and consume RESTful APIs, clearly communicating requirements and constraints across teams
Translate business and product requirements into robust technical solutions
Apply clean code principles and back-end best practices across the codebase
Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration)
Participate actively in agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban), including refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives
Perform code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards and tooling
Work closely with QA, product managers, and architects to ensure high-quality, business-aligned deliveries
Support and improve existing applications in a fast-paced, enterprise investment-banking environment
SKILLS
Must have
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience as a Java developer, with a proven track record on long-term projects
Strong hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate
Working knowledge of SQL
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
Hands-on experience with Terraform
Experience in automated testing of Java applications
Clean coding skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Experience in RESTful API design
Familiarity with agile development practices (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
Good communication skills and the ability to clearly state requirements to other teams
Nice to have
