We are looking for a highly experienced Principal Network Engineer to serve as a senior technical authority within the Edge & Customer Connectivity organization. The role will lead the architecture, engineering, governance, and strategic direction of large-scale enterprise connectivity services, with a strong focus on B2B connectivity, WAN architecture, secure partner integrations, and network modernization.
Responsibilities
- Architect and govern enterprise B2B connectivity solutions and secure partner integrations.
Design and optimize IPsec VPN, WAN, MPLS, Internet, and cloud connectivity solutions.
Lead architecture and design reviews and provide technical approval for major network initiatives.
Serve as the senior escalation point for complex VPN, routing, WAN, and connectivity issues.
Define engineering standards, architecture patterns, and operational best practices.
Lead critical incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and permanent corrective actions.
Drive network modernization, automation, resiliency, and scalability initiatives.
Evaluate emerging networking technologies and develop implementation strategies.
Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across engineering and operations teams.
Partner with vendors, service providers, architects, and leadership on long-term network strategy.

Mandatory Skills Description
10+ years of enterprise network engineering experience within large-scale Cisco environments, with expert-level knowledge of routing, switching, and security technologies. Advanced expertise in IPsec/IKEv2 VPN architecture, including static and route-based VPNs, B2B partner connectivity, BGP, NAT, and VRF segmentation. Proven ability to lead complex engineering initiatives from architecture through implementation, establish enterprise engineering standards, troubleshoot complex multi-vendor environments, and provide technical leadership and mentoring. Strong executive-level communication and ability to operate independently on highly complex assignments are required. Resources are also expected to consistently use enterprise-approved AI tools, including GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and approved GenAI platforms, to enhance engineering, documentation, analysis, and delivery workflows.
CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent expert-level experience. Strong knowledge of Cisco ISR, ASR, Catalyst, and Nexus, as well as experience with Arista switching and Palo Alto firewalls. Experience with Python-based network automation, Azure and AWS networking, Visio and advanced technical documentation, global engineering teams, and large-scale network transformation initiatives. Experience within healthcare, government, or other highly regulated enterprise environments is preferred.
