Edelman is a voice synonymous with trust, reimagining a future where the currency of communication is action. Our culture thrives on three promises: boldness is possibility, empathy is progress, and curiosity is momentum.

At Edelman, we understand diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) transform our colleagues, our company, our clients, and our communities. We are in relentless pursuit of an equitable and inspiring workplace that is respectful of all, reflects and represents the world in which we live, and fosters trust, collaboration and belonging.

We are seeking a Senior Account Executive (SAE) to join Edelman's Health Brands team in London, with a focus on integrated healthcare communications, policy and public affairs.

The SAE will play a key role in the day-to-day management and delivery of client accounts, supporting the development and execution of integrated policy and communications programmes that help clients navigate the evolving healthcare landscape, engage key stakeholders and shape conversations around important health issues.

This role is ideal for someone who combines a strong interest in healthcare policy and the wider political environment with a passion for strategic communications, creative storytelling and delivering impactful campaigns. Working across a range of healthcare clients and communications challenges, the SAE will help translate complex health and policy issues into compelling narratives, meaningful engagement and integrated programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day client activities and account workstreams, ensuring high-quality delivery, proactive communication and timely responses to client needs.
  • Support the planning, development and execution of integrated healthcare programmes, bringing together policy, public affairs, media relations, stakeholder engagement and creative communications.
  • Develop compelling narratives and high-quality written content across a range of formats, including messaging frameworks, policy and stakeholder briefings, media materials, social media content and thought leadership, tailored to different audiences and channels.
  • Support stakeholder mapping and engagement activities across the healthcare ecosystem, including policymakers, healthcare professionals, patient organisations, industry bodies and other influential voices.
  • Monitor and analyse UK healthcare policy developments, political and regulatory changes, and broader industry trends to identify opportunities, inform client recommendations and shape communications strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across communications disciplines to deliver integrated campaigns that engage audiences and support client objectives.
  • Coordinate project timelines, budgets, action trackers and reporting, ensuring efficient account management and delivery.
  • Support and mentor junior colleagues, providing constructive feedback and contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • Contribute to creative brainstorms, strategic planning, new business proposals and opportunities for account growth.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in healthcare communications, public relations, public affairs or a related field, ideally within an agency, consultancy or healthcare-focused organisation.
  • A strong interest in the UK healthcare landscape, including health policy, the NHS, government priorities and the broader political and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex healthcare and policy topics into clear, engaging and accessible content for different audiences.
  • Experience supporting integrated communications and policy programmes, stakeholder engagement, media relations, public affairs or healthcare-focused communications programmes.
  • An understanding of how policy, stakeholder engagement, earned media, digital channels and creative communications can work together to shape conversations and deliver impact.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • A proactive, curious and collaborative approach, combining analytical thinking, creativity, sound judgement and excellent attention to detail.
  • An interest in the intersection of healthcare, policy, business and society, with an enthusiasm for helping clients navigate complex issues and communicate effectively.

We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t perfectly align with every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
