Senior Java Backend DeveloperLocation: Kraków, PolandWork Model: Hybrid — 3 days/weekAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Java Backend Developer to join a leading technology team in Kraków. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of hands-on experience in backend application development, with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot. This role offers the opportunity to work on enterprise-scale applications, designing and delivering robust, scalable, and high-performance backend solutions. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot. Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions. Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA engineers, and other development teams to deliver high-quality software. Participate in system design discussions and contribute to technical architecture decisions. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices and coding standards. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues. Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability. Participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members where required. Contribute to CI/CD implementation and DevOps initiatives. Work effectively within Agile/Scrum teams. Required Skills & Experience8+ years of professional software development experience. Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot. Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns. Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server. Familiarity with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar. Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and modern development tools. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and software delivery best practices. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills in English. Nice to HaveExperience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with event-driven architectures. Financial services or enterprise-scale project experience. Work ModelHybrid working model with regular on-site presence 3 days/week required in Kraków, Poland.
