Senior Java Backend Developer

The consultant will be responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining our Java-based applications that handle taxation, account management, and investment processing for our pension and savings products. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Java applications supporting savings and investment productsBuild and enhance calculation engines ensuring compliance with tax regulations across multiple countriesDevelop solutions supporting complex business processes, tax authority integrations, and customer-facing reportingParticipate in requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, and deploymentCollaborate with financial analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutionsMentor developers and act as a code reviewer and design sparring partnerPromote practical engineering practices across the development teamUse AI-assisted development and automation responsibly to improve productivity, quality, and learningContribute strong collaboration and analytical skills to solve complex technical challenges Requirements: Strong experience in Java 21 and Java-based application developmentHands-on experience with Spring Boot and related Java frameworksProven experience with relational databases and PostgreSQL SQLPractical experience with messaging technologies such as JMS, MQ, or similar protocolsStrong proficiency in Java frameworks including Spring and HibernateKnowledge of OpenAPI and AsyncAPI for producing and consuming dataFamiliarity with Git and CI/CD pipelinesUnderstanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principlesAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsVery good command of English, both spoken and written
