Engineering Director

The Software Engineering Director partners closely with Product Management, Architecture, Platform Engineering, Security, Quality Engineering, and business stakeholders to align technology execution with organizational priorities while fostering a culture of innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.  This role is responsible for leading multiple engineering teams, provides strategic leadership across engineering functions, drives execution of product roadmaps, develops engineering talent, and ensures delivery of secure, reliable, and high-quality technology solutions.

• Develop client focused software products across a variety of platforms and business verticals.   

• Working closely with leadership to create product development plans and encourage and lead agile techniques to develop world class technologies and product offerings.  

• Developing and leading an innovative software engineering team – establish focus, engage, and inspire others, manage performance and executive rapid product delivery.   

• Working closely with the leaders of many departments and very closely with product management to set and deliver against product roadmaps.

• Bringing metrics-driven leadership style to the Datasite software engineering team.  

• Develop trusted partnerships and collaborate effectively with business leaders and decision makers.

What we are looking for:  

• Minimum 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience. 

• Minimum 5+ years of engineering leadership experience managing teams and engineering managers. 

• Experience leading large-scale SaaS products, cloud-based platforms, or enterprise software solutions 

• Demonstrated success delivering complex technical initiatives in Agile environments. 

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.  

• Solid experience with Python / Java.  

• Strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms  

• You have excellent communication and collaboration skills.  

• Experience working with and building user facing features.  

• Familiarity with AWS and its suite of services.  

• Experience working with event-driven microservice architectures in production environments.  

• Demonstrated experience in collaboration on features from the conceptual phase through to release.  

• Bonus points if you have experience with ElasticSearch or MongoDB
