Short Summary:
The Security Libraries team at Datadog is responsible for customer-side integrations behind run-time security products. As Engineering Manager, you will lead a polyglot team, balancing people leadership, product ownership, and operational health of code in production.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, grow, and develop a team of roughly 4-8 library engineers.
- Own team delivery and productivity: planning, milestones, reviews, and on-call rotation.
- Set product direction with Product Management and balance priorities across security products.
- Stay technically close to the work, contribute code, and maintain quality and architecture.
- Build strong relationships and drive alignment across teams.
- Shape team identity and culture, and own accountability when problems occur.
Requirement:
- Experience managing a team of engineers and setting direction with Product Managers.
- A senior software-engineering background with strong technical judgment.
- A track record of developing people through coaching and feedback.
- Strong cross-team communication skills.
- Experience building libraries, SDKs, or systems/run-time software.
- Pragmatic product-engineering experience.
