Tech Lead PHP (Drupal and Acquia), Hyderabad-based

We are looking for a Tech Lead PHP with strong Drupal and Acquia experience to lead backend development, guide technical decisions, and support the design, build, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise Drupal applications.

This role combines hands-on backend engineering with technical leadership. The ideal candidate should be able to drive implementation, support architecture discussions, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

This position is intended for Hyderabad-based candidates who are available to work from the office.

• Lead Drupal backend development for enterprise digital applications
• Design custom modules, services, plugins, hooks, events, and API integrations
• Define technical approaches for business logic, content workflows, and data structures
• Guide engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and production troubleshooting
• Support integrations with external systems, APIs, and enterprise data sources
• Troubleshoot backend, configuration, data, caching, and platform issues
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to support rendering needs and resolve cross stack issues
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
• Support configuration management, deployment readiness, and environment consistency
• Contribute to engineering standards, reusable patterns, mentoring, and technical documentation

• Strong experience as a Backend Engineer or Tech Lead with hands-on Drupal development expertise
• At least 6 years of professional software or web application development experience
• At least 3 years of Drupal backend development experience
• Strong knowledge of PHP and Drupal architecture, including entities, fields, forms, routing, dependency injection, and configuration management
• Experience with Drupal 10 or Drupal 11
• Familiarity with Drush, Composer, Docker, or DDEV
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading backend technical initiatives
• Experience building custom Drupal modules, services, plugins, hooks, and event-driven logic
• Experience working with Views, Blocks, custom content structures, workflows, and API integrations
• Working knowledge of Drupal caching, including render cache, cache tags, cache contexts, and invalidation
• Ability to analyze frontend impact and collaborate effectively with frontend engineers
• Strong Git workflow habits and familiarity with modern development tooling
• Ability to troubleshoot complex application issues methodically

• Experience with Acquia Cloud Platform
• Experience with enterprise search solution integrations such as Coveo
• Experience with enterprise scale or multi-site Drupal platforms
• Experience with performance tuning, security hardening, or DevOps collaboration
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
