Daikin Applied is seeking a talented and eager Business Analyst – Field Opersation. The Business Analyst – Field Operations will partner with business stakeholders and technology teams to understand operational needs, evaluate processes, define requirements, and support the delivery and ongoing improvement of business applications. The role works across multiple business functions and translates business needs into clear, practical solutions that improve efficiency, data quality, user experience, and business outcomes.

This is an experienced, intermediate-level position. The analyst is expected to independently lead routine and moderately complex analysis assignments, facilitate stakeholder discussions, produce high-quality requirements and process documentation, coordinate testing, and support implementation activities. The analyst will collaborate with senior team members, solution owners, and project leaders on highly complex, cross-functional, or strategic initiatives.

The position may support operational areas such as field service, commercial projects, rental management, customer service, supply chain, finance, or other business functions. Familiarity with Astea Alliance, IFS Cloud, or field service operations is beneficial but not required. What you will do:

Business Analysis & Requirements

• Partner with stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, workflows, and information needs
• Plan and conduct interviews, working sessions, observation activities, and requirements workshops
• Elicit, analyze, document, validate, and manage business and functional requirements
• Write clear user stories, business requirements, functional requirements, use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria
• Trace requirements through design, development, testing, and implementation to help ensure intended outcomes are delivered
• Identify requirement gaps, conflicts, dependencies, assumptions, and risks, and work with stakeholders to resolve them
• Maintain organized and current analysis documentation throughout the delivery lifecycle

Process Analysis & Continuous Improvement

• Document current-state and future-state business processes using appropriate process-mapping techniques
• Analyze workflows, handoffs, controls, data usage, and pain points to identify improvement opportunities
• Recommend practical process or system changes that reduce manual effort, improve consistency, strengthen controls, and enhance the user or customer experience
• Support process standardization while recognizing valid business, functional, or regional differences
• Assist with measuring the results of implemented improvements using defined business outcomes and performance indicators

Solution Delivery & Application Support

• Collaborate with product owners, solution architects, developers, configuration specialists, data teams, and vendors to translate requirements into workable solutions
• Participate in solution reviews, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations, and release-readiness activities
• Support existing business applications by assisting with issue analysis, enhancement definition, prioritization, testing, and user communication
• Perform initial problem analysis, document reproducible issues, assess business impact, and coordinate escalation when needed
• Balance immediate operational needs with longer-term process, application, and enterprise architecture objectives

Testing, Implementation & Adoption

• Develop test scenarios and expected results based on approved requirements and business processes
• Coordinate and support system testing and User Acceptance Testing, including test preparation, execution tracking, defect clarification, and evidence collection
• Validate that delivered functionality meets documented requirements and is ready for business use
• Assist with implementation planning, business readiness, data validation, training content, job aids, and end-user communications
• Provide post-implementation support and gather feedback to identify stabilization or improvement needs

Stakeholder & Project Collaboration

• Build effective working relationships with business users, subject matter experts, technology teams, and external partners
• Facilitate meetings with clear objectives, structured discussion, documented decisions, and assigned follow-up actions
• Communicate analysis findings, options, recommendations, risks, issues, and status in language appropriate for business and technical audiences
• Organize assigned work, manage priorities and deadlines, and provide timely visibility to risks or dependencies
• Contribute to project planning, estimation, change control, and delivery governance as requested

Data & Reporting Analysis

• Analyze business data to validate requirements, investigate issues, identify trends, and support decision-making
• Define data, reporting, and dashboard requirements in partnership with business stakeholders and technical teams
• Assist with data mapping, validation, reconciliation, and data-quality improvement activities
• Confirm that reports and metrics use clear definitions and align with the intended business process and outcome

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Approximately 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, process improvement, application support, project delivery, or a related role
• Working knowledge of business analysis practices, requirements lifecycle management, process mapping, testing, and solution delivery
• Experience independently completing routine and moderately complex analysis assignments
• Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, facilitation, organization, and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on commitments, and work effectively in a cross-functional environment
• Proficiency with common productivity, diagramming, collaboration, and work-management tools
• Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting field service teams or related service operations
• Experience with Astea Alliance, IFS Cloud, or another enterprise resource planning, field service management, or business application platform
• Exposure to commercial project management, rental management, asset management, service contracts, work order management, dispatch, mobile workforce processes, or parts and materials operations
• Experience with Agile or hybrid delivery methods and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira
• Experience with application implementations, upgrades, data migration, integrations, or digital transformation initiatives
• Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, master data, reporting, and role-based security concepts

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $73,300 - $120,700 in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
