Position Summary:

We’re looking for a creative writer who can turn data-driven insights into polished, executive-level storytelling and wants to join our team as our next Senior Manager of Executive Communications.

This is a high-visibility role, where you’ll become a trusted advisor to senior technology leaders and advance an executive communication strategy that enhances CVS Health’s reputation, supports our business objectives, and builds positive relationships. You’ll partner with and report to the Director of Communications for our EVP, Ventures and Chief Experience and Technology Officer and the Ventures, Experience and Technology organization.

The Senior Manager will maintain a bird’s eye view of our technology executive visibility and dive deep into the org for data and insights that bring our innovations to life. The triple-threat candidate is a strong writer whose default is positive energy, an inclination to swing big and move quickly, and organizational skills that are sharp.

Key Responsibilities:

• If you like the stability of a large organization but write like you work at a buzzy start-up, this may be the job for you. You’ll be working alongside senior leaders who prefer a decidedly non-corporate, human tone of voice (i.e. it does not sound like AI wrote it. Ironic, right?).
• And you won’t be writing puff pieces. This job is great for someone who wants to peel back the layers of a big organization to find stories worth telling.
• This is a high-visibility role where you’ll often be in rooms (virtual and in-person) with senior executives who are building big things. Polish and executive presence are a must.
• This person needs to love organization like it’s their job — because it will be. You’ll help keep track of executive speaking engagements across a 12,000-person technology organization.
• You pride yourself on a mastery of AP Style and review talking points, decks, newsletters, and more to make sure everything is accurate, crisp, and consistent with enterprise guidelines.
• You make yourself available as your communications peers look to you for technology messaging guidance — and you’ll bring the kind of generous, sharp-eyed perspective that makes the whole team better.
• You are a doer. Period. You’ll own complex initiatives from kickoff to delivery, keeping competing priorities in check and senior stakeholders aligned.

• Excellent writing skills. Not “good for a corporate writer” — actually good.
• You’re comfortable around senior executives and count executive presence among your strengths.
• Deadlines don’t rattle you. Neither do last-minute pivots or redlined drafts. You’ve delivered under pressure and kind of thrive on it.
• You make friends easily and you make things happen through those friendships. Across the org, people trust you — and that trust gets things done.
• You don’t wait to be managed. You’re the one building the timeline, tracking the dependencies, and sending the reminder emails.
• You understand that every press release, every talking point, every newsletter exists inside a bigger story — and you know how to make sure they all tell it well.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of editorial/communication experience in a large organization, media company, newsroom, or agency.

Education
A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, PR, or something adjacent preferred — though if you’ve spent years doing the work and have the portfolio to prove it, we’re listening.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $182,549.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
