Cvent’s Technology organization delivers our event and hospitality products through dozens of agile sprint teams. As those teams scale, the hardest delivery problems sit between them: cross-team dependencies, release sequencing, competing priorities, and keeping leadership’s view of delivery accurate and current.
This role sits within Technology Program Management. Where Scrum Masters own team-level execution and facilitation, the Technical Program Manager operates one level up, owning program-level governance, dependency management, release strategy, escalation, and reporting across a portfolio of teams.
This is a hands-on leadership role that blends delivery strategy, data-driven governance, and executive communication. You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, UX, and Quality leadership, coach and hold Scrum Masters accountable, and make sure senior leadership is never surprised by a program-level risk.
In This Role, You Will:
Program governance & delivery
- Drive the new AIDLC adoption across your program: audit adherence quarterly, resolve gaps with Scrum Masters, and escalate persistent or systemic gaps to leadership.
- Own program-level forecast accuracy (targeting 80%+ each quarter), ensuring teams sequence work by priority and leading root-cause analysis and improvement plans when forecasts miss.
- Maintain an accurate, current view of board-level and strategic initiatives, with every initiative carrying a clear owner, current status, and realistic target date in Jira and program status reports.
- Track scorecard objectives and OKRs at the program level, partnering with Product to submit and maintain quarterly OKRs and escalating risks to goal attainment at least a sprint before quarter close.
Dependency management & release strategy
- Own program-level dependency governance: maintain a program dependency view, make sure cross-team and cross-program dependencies (resource, UX, architecture, external) are reflected in roadmaps and release plans, and ensure no dependency risk goes more than a sprint without mitigation or escalation.
- Own the program release strategy, planning, sequencing, and resourcing release milestones across teams and maintaining a program release calendar.
- Lead quarterly program release reviews with Product, Engineering, and Quality leadership, surfacing release risks and readiness well ahead of major milestones.
- Give Scrum Masters the program context they need to facilitate team-level release readiness conversations, and remove the cross-team blockers they can’t resolve alone.
Continuous improvement & quality
- Use program-level data (cross-team throughput, dependency wait time, unplanned work, carryover) to identify systemic drag, and sponsor at least one measurable improvement initiative each quarter.
- Govern Production Bug, Accessibility, and Security SLA performance across your program, identifying systemic drivers such as capacity, tooling, or process gaps and driving improvement when targets are missed.
- Analyze retrospective themes across teams to surface recurring dependency or release-coordination friction, respond to escalated impediments, and share cross-team learnings and best practices.
- Observe ceremonies and coach Scrum Masters on effectiveness, serving as the escalation point when issues persist.
Communication & reporting
- Deliver concise, audience-appropriate program status updates, dependency risk summaries, and release health views to stakeholders and senior leadership on an agreed cadence.
- Consolidate Scrum Master inputs into a program-level release risk summary ahead of every major milestone.
- Govern data integrity across Jira, Big Picture, Sigma, and related tooling through regular spot-checks, holding Scrum Masters accountable to field-accuracy targets so dashboards and AI-assisted reports reflect reliable, bottom-up data.
Cross-functional partnership
- Partner with Engineering, Product, UX, and Quality leadership to align on program strategy, priorities, and health, and establish and run a recurring program health forum.
- Facilitate data-informed priority reviews with Product Management using usage, revenue, risk, and delivery data.
- Ensure engineering initiatives are planned, capacity-allocated, and tracked in program roadmaps and status reports.
- Lead or co-lead cross-functional process changes (metrics, dashboards, review forums) that improve visibility and decision-making.
People leadership & Scrum Master development
- Hire, onboard, and develop Scrum Masters, keeping every team covered and helping new hires reach baseline effectiveness in dependency tracking, data governance, and release facilitation within 90 days.
- Provide clear career paths and development plans for direct reports, reviewed at least twice a year, that grow Scrum Masters toward a strategic, program-aware profile.
- Monitor team health and engagement, manage performance proactively, and regularly recognize team and individual wins.
AI-augmented program management & knowledge sharing
- Make approved AI tools a weekly working habit for program reporting, executive updates, dependency synthesis, and cross-team risk analysis.
- Use AI to summarize risks across epics, highlight aging items, synthesize Scrum Master reports, and bring AI-assisted insights into leadership updates.
- Document practical program-management AI use cases and lead enablement sessions for Program Management peers.
- Invest in continuous learning, share knowledge across Technology (Slack, Tech Talks, documentation), and own at least one Program Management initiative that benefits the broader PM community.
Here's What You Need:
Required
- 7+ years in technical program management, delivery management, or a closely related role in a software or SaaS environment, leading programs that span multiple agile teams, with at least 2 years managing Scrum Masters, agile coaches, or delivery leads.

- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authority across Product, Engineering, UX, and Quality.
- Strong analytical skills; comfort using delivery data (forecast accuracy, throughput, SLA, and dependency metrics) to diagnose systemic issues and translate findings into decisions and executive-ready reporting.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and portfolio or reporting tools, and a high bar for data accuracy.
- Regular, practical use of AI tools to improve the speed and quality of your work.
